Thanks Roland and Catlyst2012. I checked the requirement of the website however was bit confused. Now I understood the following requirement apply to the period of time I have held a PR visa. I have been granted visa in June 2012 and arrived in Oz in August 2012. Since then was away only for 5 weeks. What a relief!! I thought I have to apply for clearance from India and UK again. "You need penal clearance certificates from overseas countries if: you lived or travelled overseas since the age of 18 years or over, and the total time spent overseas added up to 12 months or more, and the time spent in any one country was more than 90 days, or you are requested to do so by the department."

Hi I would like to ask do you need police clearance when applying for citizenship if you live in Oz for 4 years on PR visa and applying for citizenship after completion of 4th year. I am originally from India. Moved to UK at the age of of 34 and moved to Australia from UK in August 2012. Since arriving I was in Oz except for 5 weeks in January 2015. Thanks...

Sorry I don't have answer to your question but my niece has also submitted 573 application yesterday under SVP. Did you apply onshore or offshore? My niece has applied onshore. Not sure though whether that makes any difference. Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk

Sorry I didn't make it clear. I'm already in Australia since last 3 years. But I didn't sell my property when moved to Oz. Yesterday only the contracts were exchanged with completion set for 17th June. I am not Brit so I don't think we will go back to UK. Hence all funds after completion need to be transferred to Oz. However not sure for best exchange rate transfer funds all together or in part. Also there is no need of immediate funds in Oz as already sorted out mortgage for building house. Hi all, appreciate any advice on student visa. I am permanent resident of Australia and my niece from India would like to study bachelors here in Australia. She has just finished year 12 in India and is here in Australia on tourist visa. She is planning to do 18 months diploma at tafe followed by 2 years bachelor degree. She has already received conditional offers from tafe for Diploma and for bachelor's from university. She appeared for PTE in Australia and managed to score overall 65 in first attempt which is more than the required score for diploma course. And last week she received outcome of year 12 so hopefully she will receive unconditional offer letter in the coming week. Her diploma will start in August or September and bachelors will start immediately after completion of diploma. She doesn't have 8503 condition. As she will be doing bachelors and her both institutes satisfy SVP conditions she is eligible for 573 visa under SVP. So can she apply for onshore visa and being eligible to apply under SVP will she get visa in 2 weeks time as per timescale of onshore SVP visa. Has anyone applied for onshore student visa under SVP? Thanks...

Hi now they are many tests other than IELTS (e.g. PET-A, OET, I think TOEFL as well) are valid for nursing registration in Australia. Check the websites for exact details . Last month we received my son's passport within two weeks including delivery time at both ends. Posted using special delivery from Sydney on Wednesday. They received in Liverpool (UK) on Monday and it was dispatched on Wednesday. Next Monday received both passports (old and new) on same day in Sydney by special delivery. So within two weeks.

Hi all, any info, advice much appreciated. We just moved in a rental property in Sydney signing 12 months term on 5 March. We dumped our stuff and came back at night to see the lounge and kitchen full of cockraches. As my son was really scared of them paid $110 next day and did pest control. However next day realized that tlthey are coming from next door as that door was covered with 15-20 cockroaches from outside. When we came for inspection some one was living next door but when moved in that property was empty. Though we did pest control on Thursday they are coming from the front door with babies. Its just 4 days and we are felling we are living in hell as there was flooding in Laundry as well. The sandy water with bad smell came from the Laundry outlet and we have to clear the mess. My wife did cleaning 5-6 times within last 4 days. Our unit is nice but we can't leave with cockraches. I have told estate agent buy nothing has been done so far. Are we able to break the lease within a weeks time of moving in. We have signed 12 months term starting from 5 March. My son is so scarred that he woke up twice yesterday night shouting it's there on the wall in the bedroom. Does anyone know whether we are allowed to break the lease due to these reasons. I believe your partner is only registered with one of the nursing council in India so I'm afraid she won't be eligible to apply for ANMAC however she can apply for AHPRA registration once registered with AHPRA she should be eligible to apply for ANMAC. For AHPRA registration website http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/Registration-Standards.aspx Has you wife completed any additional courses after her nursing diploma. Recently my friend's wife applied for AHPRA registration and as she just diploma holder and not BSc in Nursing she has been denied for registration as a Registered Nurse but has been accepted for registration as an Enrolled Nurse. I think they want either BSc nursing nurses or diploma holders with additional post registration courses. But I may be wrong so you need to find out. Hope that helps. .......Mansawant

I don't know about bridging but for AHPRA nursing registration IELTS 7 score must be obtained in ONE sitting. I guess it will be same for bridging because when you apply to AHPRA nursing registration then only AHPRA advise you to do the bridging course. Hope that helps..

Hi KK, I rang 131881 which DIAC has mentioned for onshore applicants from Londoan and then chose option 4 as mine was LA120 - Labor agreeement permanent visa (similar to ENS and RSMS). However the person who picked up the phone just advised that nothing has been requested additionally and advised to wait but unable to confirm whether the case officer has been granted. I spoke twice and first time I got connected to the Sydney office and second time connected to Melbourne office. ....Mansawant

Hi Rachel, if you have been sponsored by an emmployer (457/121 visa)then you only need a registration with AHPRA and if you are going on skill based visa (175/176) then you will need an assessment. Hope that helps. ....Mansawant
