Although i come from Newcastle,which i think is a great city.And not far from Durham City.Which i think is another great city,and both have what you are looking for.And much cheaper living than anywhere in the South of England.But my pick is Nottingham.full of students,and plenty to do.We stayed there for 3 months.The Shopping Center is fantastic.A real special time to be there is Xmas>The huge town square is made into a ice rink.It really is something.Even if you don't live there,it's a place to visit.Robin Hood country.

Everyone has their own preferences.We live near Gympie.Tin Can Bay.Gympie is nice,but it has two Problems.It Floods ALL the Time the Town Centre Mary Street goes Underwater.Then There's the Council,One of the Highest Rates and Charges in the State.And remember the further North you go the More Humid and Hotter it Gets.We used to Live Near Toowoomba. A really Nice City Big wide roads friendly and cheap.And Real Cool On top of the Range.You Have the opposite on the Sunshine Coast.We are Moving Back there,next year.Well to Gatton.Have a look there a great Rural Town,And reasonably cheap houses.You don't have to go to the City realy everything is there.Good Schools Hospital,Doctors ect You have to go to Toowoomba or Ipswich if you want go to the pictures.The Sunshine Coast To Me Is So overrated.There's heaps of Hotels in Toowoomba,And ipswich and it's easy compute even to Brisbane by car.There's only 2 Hairdressers in Gatton,and 1 in Laidley. thats another rural near by.depends what sort of life you want rural or city.

Theres's nothing here,but sand flies,and humidity.It rains all the time and we have cyclones all the time.We live at Tin Can Bay.If you a desperate try Gympie hospital.The only thing going for the sunshine coast is.Houses are cheap.But be vary wary the place floods all the time.Gympie Council rates and charges are one of the most exspensive.The Closer you live to the water the more exspensive your rates.If Gympie Councl keep up their Grab for cash,and don't stop building stupid exspensive parks ect.They will end up with ghost towns.

Well we returned to Aus from the Uk last November after one Year in the Uk.What i would say is don't be too hasty.We thought the same as you.But Australia is not what it was in such a short time,i myself just can't believe it,as we lived here for 29 years.How could it happen.Well the mining boom is well and truly over.The Conservative Government is lost.Abbott,Hockey and the rest of the Liberals and Nationals are going from one disaster to the next.They have stopped the boats.But thats it.The cost of living has trippled,rates and house prices have realy gone up.Meat. they must feed the animals on $100 notes.$42 for a kg of lamb chops.A box of cornflakes $7.potatoes$3,50kg We are thinking of returning to the UK.We should have given it at least 2 years.People that we knew that had returned.Said it takes at least that to get Aussie out of your system.When i was in the UK.I used to say I'll never whinge abut the heat again.Now i'm back in Aus, I say the heat is depressing, it's so humid.Even with the$ Nose diveng.We would rather take the loss than stay.I always said.Once the mining Boom goes, Australia will have the biggest crash ever.The governmet say they are paying out 2% more than the Country earns.Electric Bills are unbelievale some say they are paying $3000 a quarter.Child care has gone up to $100 per day.In the cities.And inner suburbs,But then it all comes down to what people earn.

Sorry but you need to change your vet.He/she is just not up to date.Should know what to do, and know where to send the blood samples,as their is 3 visits you have to make.Plus your right about the Lepto,if the vet dosn't do the right proceedure,it could come up negative in the blood sample.As the dog is injected with the Lepto virus.

We arrived back to the Uk in October 10 20013.Have decided to return to Aus with our 2 mini foxes.But just found out,We have to go through the whole thing again.as our dogs didn't have a Rabies blood test when they left Aus.they said it wasn't needed,It's a whole NEW RULES thing trying to get them back to Aus.Apparently the Aussie government don't want Dogs and cats into Aus at all,and are making it very difficult and costly for those that want to bring their pets in.$1800 each dog for 10 days Quarrantine.Then a pass port.and whole bunch of other costs for blood tests ect.Then of course the Flight cost.It's just a crab for Cash.A total rip off.

It's nothing to do with the size of the animal,my two mini foxies are smaller than the average cat.It's all about deterring people from bringing their pets into Australia The authorities just don't want them to be brought into Australia.
