1. Hi, I am planning a holiday to AU in November and have been online to organise the visitor visa and it asks if we have a current visa, we previously had a 457 visa granted in 2011 and returned to the UK in 2014 and canceled the 457. I am not sure if I have to add this visa to the application or not? TIA Lynne
 2. My answer was in reponse to the original post..I hadn't read any other posts so assumed he meant a straight forward 457 application.
 3. No..my husband was sponsored by an Australian company and I just applied for the 457 without using an agent.
 4. Sorry should have worded it a little better...if waiting for the 2yrs
 5. I did our 457 application myself, pretty straight forward.
 6. As far as I've been told you have to have been working in Australia for the company sponsoring you for PR for 2 years. Lynne
 7. Hi, You can apply at any time if you have your trade skills recognised - TRA or VETASSESS Lynne

Hi Deb, I know i'm probably being really silly, alot of people i've spoken who have moved to Australia or lived there have said "ohhh it's too cold ther for me" when i've told them we're moving to Melbourne. At the end of the day its a way in to Australia and I should think of it that way, once we've got PR we can always relocate if we don't like it. When are you thinking of going on a reccie ? what does your OH do then?.

I don't see my grandson much cos i'm busy during the week and weekends my daughter is with her boyfriend and he doesn't like me "being involved" so i've hardly seen him :-( Hows things with you and your daughter, is she ok have you found out what she's having yet or is it too early.

Hi Debbie, xmas was great and loved spending time with my lil man !!

Yeh we're still planning on going the middle of this year, we've had a passport problem which to cut a very long story short my husband was born in a British Military hospital in Germany but because his dad was born in Jamaica he's not allowed a British passport so now has to apply to become British through his mother which costs £540 and takes a min of 3mths !! so we can't do anything about OZ til we've got that sorted...bloody joke !!

Well I just see it as another reason to leave this bloody country...lol !!

How was your xmas and how are thing going and how's your daughter ??

Lynne xx

 18.

Hi Pauline, hope you had a good xmas and a very Happy New Year !!

Well we haven't applied yet as we've had a bit of a passport problem !!

Let me explain...my husband was born in a BRITISH MILITARY HOSPITAL in Germany whilst his dad was serving in the British Army, his dad originally came from Jamaica and moved here when he was 10. My husbands mum is British born and bread and his Dad was naturalised as a British Citizen Oct 71' (9mths after OH was born)....now for the good bit !! my husband has had to have a Jamaican passport because according to the Passport Office he's not British. His passport expires in Jun this year and we have now discovered that Jamaica have now decided that you have to be a Jamaican citizen to have a passport so we can't get another one!!!. The result is that he now has to apply to be registered as a British National by decent of his mother which takes a min of 3mths and £540 !!

Hi, I've just been reading the "new 457 regime" thread and you asked if the wages Panel Beaters had changed now. I was just wondering if you had any joy finding this information. My OH has been offered a job with Woods with the same salary offer as you, just want to know if its going to be more now ??,

Thanks Lynne

Hi,

I didn't know we would get discount, thats good.

We haven't got the money to pay all the fee in 1 go so we're paying as and when we have it, once £650 has been paid then they instruct the visa agent to contact us so we won't be starting that soon.

When are you hoping to make the move?

Lynne xx

 21.

Hi Pauline,

How is everything. I've had a reply from White & Co removals, they have quoted £3052 to pack and ship goods door to door in a 20ft container, i've asked them for a price for a shared container aswell so i'll let you know.

Lynne x

 22.

Hi Pauline, We've not started the visa application yet cos we're splitting our payments to ATC so the migration agent will contact us once we've paid enough to cover their fee.

I've started looking at prices for removals, we had a quote from one company but it was £3300 which I thought was alot because we're not taking much so I've placed a thread on here about shared containers but had no response.

Have you paid your fee to ATC yet ?

Lynne xx

 23.
Hi Pauline, i've not looked into medical ins yet..suppose I should really. I haven't heard anything from ATC yet about the fee but at the moment I wont be able to do it all in one payment so i'm going ask them about a payment plan.

 24.
I'll send u a PM with my mob number, txt wenever u want, Lynne xx
