  1. Hello all, hope you are all well,
  2. We know of an afghan hound and collie that had to both be destroyed as they would bite and attack anyone.. on the other hand my friend had an american pitbull that was the most gentle dog you could wish to meet!!!
  3. You must have had your reasons to let the visa date pass you by, maybe best not to think of the what iffs, but to think more of the reasons why you chose to stay!! If you still feel the same, then look into maybe getting a new visa, hope you work things out!
  4. Hope he is soon on the road to recovery, Our two boys were in Sydney and we had no problems at all with them, kept us informed on how they were doing etc, also the dog walker we had took pictures of them and sent them to us via email, poor boy x
  5. Wishing you all the very best with your future plans, You need to be where you are happy
  6. We are lucky Stacey, we are surrounded by trees, so we don't get to much wind, so nice and cosy on the decking.. can still have the bbq going and the heaters, once the drink and food flows you don't notice the chill in the air :biglaugh: even the kids mess around on the trampoline late in the evening lol x
  7. lol, well it's not exactly sheltered on a gold course i suppose, have you thought about taking up another sport, maybe indoors!! Maybe all year golf is not for you  and as for night time, patio heaters are good!
  8. Been ok here, hubby been out in the garden, get a grip Hoff, it ain't that cold lmao :ssign9:
  9. We returned back to the uk just short of 3 and a half months, like you are main issue was our children's happiness. We too were told in time once they were in school and made friend's that they would soon settle, Sadly not for us. If anything they got worse, ours were 11, 8 and 6 years old, and it was the youngest two who suffered the most strangely enough. Heart wrenching sobs every night, refusing to go to school, even though they did make friend's. My hubby and myself spent many a day weighing it all up, and in the end it was a no brainer.. return home and get our happy fun loving kids back again, instead of having these sulky bad tempered aliens we had been left with... Life is too short and we felt our kids needed a happy childhood, and who are we really to say we knew what was best for them, or anyone else for that matter... we know we did the right thing in returning, no regrets at all they have settled back into school, met up with old friends and have made new, and back to being happy fun loving kids, just how they should be.. had we forced them to stay any longer they may have ended up hating Australia, this way they do have some fond memories, who knows if one day they would like to return even for a holiday. Only you as a parent knows how it effects your child/ children, some adapt with change and some don't, if you decide to return well at least you gave it a go, and not worry about the what ifs... Good luck with what ever you decide x
  10. 15 deg here today with sunny spells, no rain for a while now :cute:

  15. Thanks Pablo, it's hard work but very rewarding when you see them returning to full health. So true you take on the pets and you know vets is sure to follow at some point, makes me angry the amount of people who rush in with no thoughts what so ever for the animals up keep then just dump them.. so sad..
  16. Vets bills are so high, were lucky as our pets (touch wood) seem to stay healthy, no major problems, just yearly jabs etc.... we are now part of a bird rescue, so we have many gorgeous parrots staying with us, got a gorgeous blue and gold macaw yesterday, swears like a trooper though lol x
  17. Fair amount stacey, but it pays to buy in 15-18kilo sacks, you save a fair bit!
  18. Depends where you buy it
  19. You need to shop at the food markets, 3 large bags, (tesco size) 3 decent size pork joints, about a dozen chicken thighs, 8/10 pork chops or lamb and normally he throws in a large whole chicken for £10 for £15 he adds about 2doz sausages a huge box of the large burgers, (24) that no roll is big enough for, and a small joint of lamb
  20. Maybe when our kids are older, but there are other places to see, so many holidays to take first.
  21. I think it's really sad to read how some people on this section of the forum seem to enjoy putting the boot into any poster who dares to mention that they are returning to the uk for any reason. And yet these people all got huge pats on the back when they first post to say they plan to go to oz!! Can you not just be happy for them what ever path they choose to follow.... It's very Brave for anyone to admit that Oz is not for them, no matter how long they spent there.. it doesn't effect anyone on pio, except the poster, having returned ourselves i can honestly say when we posted 2 years ago to say we were returning, we had not one negative comment, for that i'm truly grateful, endless support from those planing the move, those already there and from members who had returned..
