ljwalvin
Hey guys just wonderin, does anybody know if theres different categories within each priority? Ie in Cat 4 there are occupations that are processed faster than others? Was told by my agent that Cat 4 visas can take up to 24 mths for a CO to be assigned but from the looks of it it seems like its not?? Probably already on Christmas holidays . It would have been such a nice Christmas present... It's good to see though that CO's are already allocated to June, it is going at such a quick pace! Guest yohan
Hi, I explained my wife's situation to the DIAC and the CO allowed me to submit the meds when the baby is born. So that solved my problem and I will be waiting a bit longer (may be till next July) in the waiting room. Cheers Y.
Honeybun
Hey guys.. just saw this on a thread somewhere else. Gives an idea of the days when DIAC will be closed for Christmas and New yr **NOTIFICATION OF CHRISTMAS CLOSURE** This year the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (Adelaide office) will be closed Monday 26 December 2011, Tuesday 27 December 2011 and Wednesday 28 December 2011. It will re-open on Thursday 29 December 2011 and Friday 30 December 2011. The office will then be closed again on Monday 2 January 2011. Normal services will resume on Tuesday 3 January 2012. If you are travelling to enable an offshore visa decision, you must ensure that you either depart Australia on or before 23 December 2011 (if departing over the Christmas break) or ensure that you do not attempt to return before Friday 30 December 2011. Guest AAAZR
FYISelling a house is SOOOO stressful!! I phoned an agent on Tuesday to say that we want to sell our property and want them to start marketing it from January...but then the agent said he wants to see the property immediately as he knows of a couple that wants a property in OUR complex. So yesterday agent had a look, brought potential buyers yesterday afternoon and informed me this morning that they want to put in an offer which he'll present to us tomorrow morning!:chatterbox: Awesome right? But now a million things going through my head...thought it would take months, what if they can't get finance, where are we going to stay until the big move....The next step is always more stressful it seems:wacko: We never even discussed with agent what we want for the property...so when I asked him what they want to offer its actually more than what we would have asked! Head is spinning! What are the chances of the first couple that walks through your property actually making an offer...and getting finance...and allowing you to stay a bit longer.. Fingers crossed:chatterbox::err::wacko::jiggy:

Hi Sekena, I can only speak from our experience and close friends' For employment verification and proof of further work experience we had to provide the following for at least 3 of the last 4 years: Payslips, employment contract, any correspondence on official letterhead and a reference letter by manager or work colleague. My husband's employer was never phoned so we were lucky as far as thats concerned. Also note that we are from HighRisk country. My friend's employer however was phoned, without warning and the guy that phoned stated that he was phoning from the Australian High Commission but did not disclose the purpose of the call. He asked questions such as how long she's been employed there ,working hours per week and position held in company. Hope this helps and sorry for taking so long to reply! Best of luck:wub:
