Yes, it's usual to ask for Form80.

Open you passports. Then go through every pages. See the arrivals and departure dates and fill in Form80. It is a tedious task and no way to skip :)

In my personal view, short stay should not have any significant impact but don't forget to mention any long stay.

Congratulations and may the months of march and April be the months of CO's and visa grants :chatterbox::wink:

Medicals arrived in Australia today and have been delivered. Hope they won't request me to fill new forms because I did not have TRN number on the forms i filled out.

Congratulations and Good Luck...

Congrats SHandGH ...this is great news... as an August 25 applicant, I am getting nervous now...

Hi guys, one quick question... i am currently in australia, but my application is offshore... should I specifically inform DIAC to issue a pre-grant instead of a grant? or will they have the information with them?

cheers

G'Day to all....I was granted a Visa in Aug '11 (Cat 3) and currently I am in Melbourne....Its a really good feeling when u get a visa grant!!! Its always good to move to a place where there are enormous opportunity or you think!!!.....Since the day i have arrived I have seen a lot job cuts espcly in the manufacturing industry...Victoria is the worse...It is extremely difficult to find a job unless you have contacts here or you are an IT specialist..Life is expensive so please if you are migrating bring a good amount of $$$ cz u would not really knw when u will get a job...."Local (Aussie) experience" is always given preference if u r applying for a job....I would suggest if u get a visa grant its smart to secure a job here before you jet in...Once you get a job heavens gates will open for you!!! All the best to all and dont give up .. hang in and stay positive...

Hi rif2arif, thanks for your post.

Can I ask how long did it take for you to get a job? What is your trade or profession? What were your approximate weekly costs while you were wainting to find work?

Hi SHandGH,

It might take you at least 3 months to find a job depending on your profession...My wife an I are accountants...If you are a tradesperson you will get a job in a months time as tradies are high in demand....If you staying with family who are willing to accomodate u till u find a job, you will be saving a lot....its like $200/wk to rent in a 1-2 b/rm house depending on your location (suburb)...Clothes are so damn expensive here...Food prices are reasonable..if you have kids u might incur some extra $...If you rent while looking for a job expenses would be around 300-400 a wk....I see you have been allocated a CO.....Depending on how effective he/she is you might get a grant in approx 2 months..all the best
