Off topic but I have to ask you guys still.. I am filling up ACT application form. I came accross this question:

Have you applied to another State/Territory for Skilled Sponsorship?

Will I say Yes? =(

You may say Yes but you should indicate the application has been finalized. I suppose Yes means you are waiting for other sponorship if not explained clearly.

Katie,

Just had a look at the registration form, the above question seems to be really tricky since it doesn't say if they wanna know if you have applied for any other state/territory in the past or running another one now in parallel.

Tough one, I'd say. But, may be being honest would be a good idea since they can and might have been talking to other states as well. Just my opinion though.

May be other members can contribute their opinions and then take a decision.

I would say NO. Your previous application has already been finalized and closed. If you said YES, then there would be a negative impact on the "state commitment".

Yesterday, one of my friends got rejection mail from VIC. He applied on 2nd Dec'2010 under ICT 261399 (Network Security). He has 8 years experience in IT field, IELTS 6.5 (each minimum 6).

The reason of rejection is - No Demand.

Now this is my time to hear something like that because we applied on same day and with same occupation.

really don't hope you get the same result:wacko:

Do you work for global headquarter company? if so, you may have a better case.

Katie,

I think what they care is whether you are running a parallel application. They shouldn't refuse you based on other state's labor market demand. So saying No is acceptable because the past one has been closed.

Hey katie,

sorry for having to turn you brown. The ACT should be a lot quicker with a decision. Just make sure to prepare everything to able to lodge a 175 within a few days. Although I don't expect any closure you should at least be prepared.

Good luck with the ACT!

Hi Uli.. I dont understand about the 175 lodging in your statement. Are you implying that I should apply for 175 before July?

No, I'd just advice you to prepare everything to able to lodge a 175/176 within days if not hours. There are still rumours about a possible suspension (like last year in May) and although I don't think there'll really be one it would be wise to have everything ready to lodge an application. So get the paperworks together. Better safe than sorry.

I'm really sorry Katie :hug::hug::hug::hug: I actually thought yesterday was Victoria's hot tempered day with almost all came as rejections! I hope you could be little more creative and think of different plans!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey Lankan

Sorry to hear that... Wishing u all the good luck for your 175 and for ACS response... Fingers crossed for you...

Hey Lankan really sorry to hear that wish you all the best for the 175

OMG,, Lankan, Groupm I'm so sorry... What's up with VIC today!!

Sorry to hear that Lankan, Big Bob, machang and groupm..

groupm, i dont see your profile on the first page.. care to share?

OH God,the head pins of this thread-BigBob,Lankan.So sorry to see the rejection. All the very best with your backup plans. You'll deserve the best!!

Guys,

Sorry for all these rejections. How pity it took them so long to respond!

At least now you know exactly where you stand, so you can pull your plans B/C etc. and start acting on them. I suggest you do this quickly, as a new freeze of applications might be upon us very soon!

Big Bob, Lankan, Groupm , machang ...so sorry for you guys. Hope you have plan Bs/Cs. Wish you all the best for those.

Hey "Big Bob, Lankan, Groupm , machang" , sorry for u guys.. you are the top contributors of this thread (apart from Uli, Armandra etc etc..) with good logical analysis of the results... its pretty sad to see u guys rejected... I guess u have plan B's, better be quick.. good luck guys.

Bob, Machang, Lankan and groupm!

You were the heart and soul of this thread, along with ULi and Armandra!

I am so sorry that you got rejected, especially Bob!. But I am sure you guys had anticipated that it might happen and have plans B and C accordingly.

Go for your 2nd option guys, I wish you good luck !

Cheers,

TAA

Buddy,

Sorry to hear this Lankan.

I have seen guys who had applied second time with Vic got appoved.

With out any changes in experience or any circumstances, but still got approved, this means they value the commitment towards them. Even if i am getting rejected i am planning to apply again for SS with Vic (If i am eligible in new points system).

Dont give up my friend.

Avioz

How devastating it is to be rejected after waiting for 5 months (losing 5 precious months of time)... the waiting of 5 months itself shows the commitment. I dont know how these Vic guys feel while rejecting someone but they might have their own problems as they are dealing with a few 1000's of applications for a limited no. of quota...

Hey Macho,

I'm really sorry to read about your rejection. You still got wifeys assessment and your own reassessment. My fingers are crossed. Do you know if you will qualify under the new points system? If so then wait for the changes and go for a 175 in July.

All the best my friend and I hope you'll be around here from time to time

Cheerio

Uli

Lankan,

Sorry to hear the bad news

Go for ACT or 175 asap.

We are gonna miss you around! Who will be around to post those nice funny messages with pics

armandra!

Uli,Avioz,TAA,Priya,Yoyo,OZand not OZ,Lankan

Guys I am allright but I would really thank you guys for supporting me from heart...Your words say all...Wish you all all the best for our future plans in OZ and do your homework well for your visa launch and demand it from DIAC. I will still be around so PM me if anyone need any help. I will always remember my Nov 4 Battalion.

Luck & wishes my pals...

regards

Big Bob

Bob and Lankan,

Bob, your enthusiasm has kept us alive and kicking for quite long.

Lankan, your cute and funny messages (with pics) have helped us brave quite a storm.

You guys are like the lifeline of our Vic thread. That's terrible news to see you guys jump off the boat leaving us behind to fight the incoming tsunami

This thread will never be the same again without you guys

Bob/Lankan/Machang/Groupm,

Hope to see you all on the other side of the ocean sooner or later for a barbie!

armandra!

Hey Big Bob, Lankan, groupm, machang,

At last you're free of waiting! Best of luck!

If you are planning on 175, you're welcome at "New Category 3's - Where are you now?" thread :)

You're right Armandra. It's pretty hard seeing so many of my chief officers leaving the vessel at once. I really hope all of you will find an opportunity to make your way to Oztralia. A 175 is always a safe alternative and I still do not expect any major (negative) changes in Australia's immigration-policy in the upcoming years. The industry is crying for more people, all sectors are booming and I'd rather expect an increase in the net overseas migration figures than a decrease. So it might take a little longer to get there but the chances are good to eventually make it. Good on ya fellows !

Uli

Lankan, can't believe so many no's, good luck with the future you'll be missed

WOW! how can I express my happiness, though Victoria screwed me up I'm really happy that you guys are such a caring bunch! I will definitely be in touch with you guys n girls when filing my 175. Hope and pray that ACS would provide me a response before DIAC enforce any suspension!

@Katie, it may be a trick question to check your honesty as they find out anyways if you have applied elsewhere. I say type yes there and there is also an option (comes later) that asks you "if you have applied to other states, give the reason why?.." Explain your circumstances there.

Don't ask how I know about it ;)

Armandra is right, its better to be honest.. And finally, sorry for your rejection but I am sure you will find out ACT is not a bad option.

Cheers,

TAA

I have a plan B so let see what happens.

Anyways had anyone looked into New Zealand?

Hey Lesale,

sorry for your refusal. I've just turned you brown. Seeing how quick the DIAC is moving it won't take much time to get your 175 through. Good on 'ya.
