landv
I am just about to apply for an australian passport for my baby daughter, but I was wondering if anyone knows whether I need to get a citizenship certificate for her as well? I heard from somewhere, that I would need to get a citizenship certificate as well. Is this true?
Ozmaniac
No, you don't need a citizenship certificate. If she was born in Australia and has at least one parent who is a PR or citizen, she is automatically a citizen. Part of the required passport documentation is evidence that one of you is a citizen or PR and that, together with her birth certificate is all that is needed to prove her citizenship. The Yuills
If she was born here, then all you need is the birth certificate. This is what I was informed. Sue

Sue Only if they have permanent residence or citizenship - on a temporary visa the child wont be entitled to a passport at all.
