The BEST news!

Okay, so I'm new here - but I got some good news tonight which has made me do something very out of character and feel the need to share!

I won't give you my life story, as its really not that exciting, but a little context is required. I've had a pretty rough 3/4 years. Meeting my OH was the best thing to happen to me in a very long time and whilst we are blissfully happy after our 2 years together, there has been a thorn in my side.

I was in a very unhappy and destructive relationship (I'm only 31, but we were together since I was 18) and it ended as I had finally realised he was making me feel undervalued and stupid - and , well, after years of this treatment he managed to make me believe that I was worthless.

I finally got the courage to leave him after being married for 2 years (this was 3 years ago) and since then it has been an uphill battle to get him to agree to a divorce. There are many issues with his non-agreement to this, not least that I am desperate to start my new life in Oz with my gorgeous OH but the visa would have been very tricky without the divorce.

getting to the point soon I promise!

Anyway, after years of draining and unfruitful negotiation, my ex has finally agreed to the divorce I so want! I am so relieved its like an enormous weight has just been lifted from my shoulders (actually, was more like a nuse at times) but I am now confident that I will soon be free!!!!!

So now you know!

Sorry about that rant - but oh my, does this feel good to get off my chest!

:jiggy:

Likewise - would it be Kula or Shaker?

Anyway, congratulations, if you know what I mean!

Thanks Fleabo. Yes, I know what you mean about whether it is "congratulations" or not - I was naive and foolish to marry him in the first place, but there's nothing like a bit of hindsight to humble you!

As for the names - I'm rather fond of both! :biglaugh:

Thanks Sunnyday. Well, I'm not alone in having ups and downs in life, but yes, I do feel that I've earned this happiness at the mo. Now I just need to get my visa and all will be well with the world....for a while at least I hope!

Aww, thanks Pabs, really appreciate your kind words. Oh my god though, your eperience sounded horrific - but so great you have a sense of humour about it now (easier to do when the dust has settled I know!). You should look into approaching a TV producer! Between the pair of us we'd make a great TV drama show! :biglaugh:

Yeah it was grim at the time mate, but its worse when a womans on the recieving end.

And yes i laff me ead off now at some of the things that went on!

I dont know who she thought all these women were that were supposed to be falling all over me when i went for a pint or to anfield!!!!! in my dreams!!!!!

She was a bit deluded, thought i was George Clooney, when im more like John Mills in "ryans daughter":biglaugh:.

Showed me dossiers by private detectives, what i'd drank, where i'd been,"if" i had spoken to a female, even if it was just "hello" to someone i knew!

The police even escorted her car to the motorway when i was working in london+she came down snarling!

AAWWwww i tell yer KS,i have a proper chortle over it now mate.

But its all character building isnt it? and it makes yer more gratefull when yer do have good times,as im sure you've found out! so be happy, and forget about the past+look to your future:hug:

Hahaha! I'm sure you are nothing like John Mills :biglaugh:

Wow. You poor man, that sounded truly awful! I can't believe she did all that! I have to say though, that being a woman doesn't make it any worse. Shi77y behaviour is shi77y behaviour and is a disgraceful way to behave towards someone you are supposed to care about and love. Thank god you are rid of her now!

Yes, coudn't have put it better myself, its very character building and I for one feel stronger than I ever have. Just knowing that I have turned things around is proof that you can improve your life if you believe in what you are doing. I'll raise a glass to you at the looking to the future bit too!

Cheers!
