I want to join the Queensland Police when we get out there and you need a certain level of education to apply.As I have not got a degree I have just signed up for this course Police Training - Queensland Police Service - College for Law and Justice Administration I am off sick at the moment (shoulder operation) so it will give me something to do. The funny thing is that as it is further education, my employer has half funded it. They originally said no as it was an Australian course so I appealed as the rules did not state that it had to be a English course! Thoroughly enjoyed it and if anyone is thinking about doing the same as me then I would deffo recommend the company. I have spoken to Queensland Police and as we have now have the 176 PR visa stamp in our passports, they are going to let me apply now and if I pass the paper sift then they will schedule my testing all within the same week. If it all goes to plan, I may have to travel to oz in the next few months and sit the tests but the upside is that when we arrive in December, I should start at the academy more or less straight away ( if I am successful). He will need to get a pass from his missus though. I will only be going for a week to ten days. I will need 3-4 days to get over the jet lag before I have the testing. I will be staying with 2 PIO members whilst in oz: Nurse sue and hammer. Cant wait. Got the medical monday, Psychometric testing thursday, interview Friday and physical saturday.
