    A Sad Post...Squem

Thanks for telling me about your thread, Bob. I'm still so upset about this news, so I can't fathom the feelings of her family and close friends. My thoughts are often with them. We only met Squem once, but spent many hours every night in the chat room and on MSN. Remember the orange Smarties, and Bam! There was an emoticon in the chat room which was a 'punch in the face'. We always said goodbye by using it to each other! So, Squem - *punch* RIP XXX

NOT REALLY...... Made ya click!!! The visa for Australia is still lodge, with no movement, some things have changed in our lives, and so we're moving back to Istanbul. We've bought a flat, I will go back to ESOL teaching, having school hours and school hols off, husband will be a househusband for a while, and look for a job, or start his own business without the stress of a mortgage or bills, the kids will be thrown into the local state school and learn Turkish, and we'll have lots of family around us, and a MiL who can catch up with her grandkids, and give us some time out! The kids are still at the right age to move and can experience city life, we can have holidays in Europe, (close proximity doncha know!!!!!) and, I think it's time to leave This Septic Isle!! The house has just sold, been on the market since mid March, so we should be gone by September, we'll be driving over again, this time via ferry from Italy to Greece. And if we ever get the Oz visa, we'll take stock of where we are at that time. So, good luck to everyone with whatever it is you're doing, just remember.... a lot of stuff around you can blow away in the wind, keep what is important, precious, and irreplaceable close to you, treasure it, and don't look back. Peace, Health, and Harmony good buddies! Sue x

    Just A Slight Whinge.

Tony, sometimes I read the Oz v UK threads and I skim them quite quickly because I honestly get annoyed about squabbles about the 'price' of 'things', I know sometimes people are having a laugh, and winding each other up, but for god's sake aren't there more important things in life? Don't we all want more house space, more disposable income, more time, more, more, more more......? Can't we be thankful for what we've got? Can't we take time to be thankful for the 'priceless things' we have?... Mental and physical health of ourselves and our loved ones trumps everything and anything. Yes, things could be better, but bloody hell they could be worse, couldn't they? I've experienced 3 deaths in my family, since last September, and I'm finding my grief to be a very strange experience, but it is putting lots of things into perspective for me, and I now find that I cannot worry about small daily stuff, because the bigger picture is so much, well, bigger! The experience of loosing a spouse is unimaginable, and 2 girls loosing their father like that is a terrible thing to have to deal with, and I have no concept of where that poor man's mind was, I just don't know what to say. World Ending

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/preachers-prophesying-end-world-york-000338169.html "Meanwhile, enterprising atheists across 26 states have set up a business to care for the animal companions of any Christians who are selected to go to heaven when Jesus Christ comes back "You've committed your life to Jesus. You know you're saved. But when the Rapture comes, what's to become of your loving pets who are left behind?" Eternal Earth-Bound Pets says on its website, offering to "take that burden off your mind." The post-doomsday pet rescue service already has 259 clients, who have paid $135 for the first pet and $20 for each additional pet at the same address, to ensure the faithful animal companions are looked after and loved even when their Christian owners have gone to the other side. All the rescuers are sworn atheists, which means they will definitely be left behind on Earth, ready to rescue pets after the Rapture. When judgment day happens, Eternal Earth-Bound Pets co-founder Bart Centre "will notify all of our rescuers to go into action and they will drive to the homes of anyone who's signed a contract with us, pick up their pets and take them home and adopt them as their own, keeping them happy and healthy for the rest of their lives. "This will happen only if and when the Rapture happens. So we do not expect to have to do anything on Saturday," Centre told AFP. Contracts are good for 10 years, just in case the Mayan calendar prophesy, which predicts the world will end in December next year, comes true."

    Bomb Threat London

With Queenie visiting Ireland tomorrow, there's been a serious threat today. "Explaining the code word system, Mr Black said today's events had a very "retro feel", harking back to the height of the dissident republican movement in the 1970s. Terror groups would use an intermediary to let the police know a code word, so that when a bomb threat came through, they would know to take it seriously." http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/UK-News/Bomb-Threat-London-Irish-Republican-Dissidents-Issue-Coded-Bomb-Threat-For-London/Article/201105315993005?lpos=UK_News_Top_Stories_Header_3&lid=ARTICLE_15993005_Bomb_Threat_London%3A_Irish_Republican_Dissidents_Issue_Coded_Bomb_Threat_For_London Keep 'em peeled!
  14. Does it matter? I think Gerry is a sociopath, I think they sedated the children, I think it's suspicious she washed the cuddled cat, I think that cadaver dogs smelled death in the boot of the car, on Kate's clothes, etc etc. I think leaving your 3 kids in an unlocked apartment is negligence, I think employing ropey detectives to look for her is odd, I think asking people to give money, and writing books and sueing newspapers and policemen is all fascinating and none of us know what happened - I like a good murder mystery, and that is what they've turned it into. Somethings just don't seem right about it all. And I think it's a waste of our money to get the Met involved. So, it doesn't matter what we think, but I personally am not convinced she was abducted.
  15. Had enough? Asked questions from the investigating team, and they had had enough? Oh, dear, well let's hope the McCanns let the Met know when they're had enough, then - because they are in charge of the investigation, right??
