Hi Guys,

We recently contacted the department first time via email in 7 months and this the reply which we got I am pasting below for you guys to have an idea.

"Thank you for contacting the department.

I will take this opportunity of correspondence to confirm that processing

time for all partner applications is 9 to 12 months. The time taken can

vary from case to case.

You will be contacted by a case officer in coming months for interviews and

further assessment, however a two months time frame does not seem

plausible.

I trust the above is of assistance.

Yours Sincerely"

... Last resort is to wait ... :)

My wife applied for her depended PR 309 last year and we got the Visa grant in march this year.

She was planning to travel in Sept to Australia (first entry). She is is pregnant now and Doctor has advised against any now. Please advise if I can request the case officer the extend her first entry date by 6 to 9 months?

Thanks,

Raghu

Thanks RK

They very rarely change the Initial Entry Date, you probably have to provide plenty evidences from hospital/Doctor proper reasoning etc.

G'day Alhamra,

Yes my wife received the request for Polio Certificate as well on 26th of August, We sent them the certificate within 24 hours.

Now, few of my friends were given Visit Visa recently and they told me Polio Certificate was the last requirement that was asked for before the grant.

Seems like yours and ours case is closing in for grant. I wonder how their system actually works...

Btw, 3 months since we have applied for my wife's spouse visa. All the documents were front loaded.

Alhamra, please keep us in the loop.

Thanks,

Abel

Hi, I applied way back in February n I got my co in may. I am glad you guys didnt have to wait as long as we did for about 4 months. I have recently applied for a tourist visa, will be able to hear about it soon whether they grant me or not. But the catch is that if I go on visit n I get my partner granted in between I will have to exit Australia and nobody knows how long after i exit are they gonna take to grant. So im unclear whether or not can I exit to nearby New Zealand or someplace n come back in a few days after grant. However I emailed AHC like a month back to which they specifically said that hoping to get the visa in the next 2 months is not plausible. So what I take they mean by this is that the whole story is going to go till october november. Which is kind of upsetting :/. We applied online so we uploaded most of the documents in one go however we keep updating almost every month. Nobody really knows how it works in AHC.

Hmm... I hear you. Asking for Polio Certificate is a major indication towards our grant. So i would say live in the current situation. May be in 2 weeks/1 month time you will hear the good news. Situation in Islamabad is not very good due to the protests, resulting in embassy shut down. I applied for my Wife's visitor visa 6 weeks ago and have not heard a thing about it.

From what i have heard, getting visa of New Zealand / Indonesia from Australia is a piece of cake. So even if you have to go to NZ it wont be a big deal. Hey you can see NZ this way lol ... But as you are closing in your Grant, they wont even look at your visit visa file application and will grant you the Spouse visa. Just wait few more weeks and sail in the current time. You will do fine.

Thanks

Guys;

I am silent reader of this forum, specially this thread, I have got much information through this forum, please see below my timeline

Applicant: Male

AHC: Islamabad

Applied Subclass 309: 15-01-2014

CO Assigned, Medical Request: 17-01-2014

Medical Done: 30-01-2014

Phone Interview of Applicant, Sponsor and Form 888 signee: 30-06-2014

Additional Documents sent as requested: 16-07-2014

Visa Grant: 01-08-2014 Alhamdolillah

Total time: 6 months 15 days

Polio vaccination and obtained certificate then traveled label free, Alhamdolillah now in Australia...!

Guys I would suggest you that patience is the best thing in your lodged application and your paper work should be completed & accurate as required, avoid asking AHC again and again about visa grant as they don't know about visa grant decision as its always taken by Senior Immigration Officer not by the CO which had been assigned to you. Good luck all of you...!

Congratulations mate, never heard a male applicant getting their visa approval so quickly. Good job mate.

Yes you are right. Proper and organized file always pierce the queue.

Mate, a question for you As my wife and ALHAMRA, recently received the Polio vaccination certificate request and since you got your visa recently, could you please tell us if you were asked for it and how long after it you got the grant.

Once again mate well done. Weather is bit crap in Melbourne(if you are in Melbourne) but hang in there A beautiful spring awaits us.

Thanks mate.

Regards,

Abel.

Dear Abel and AlHamra;

Thanks!!!

I know male applicant mostly get their visa grant within 9 to 12 months, but if your paper work is perfect according to the check list so it doesn't take time, and regarding polio vaccination certificate I wasn't asked for it but in my visa grant notification they stated that I need to have polio vaccination before I start my travel to Australia, so I got my polio vaccination certificate before I migrated and shown it at the airport.

As you know immigration all the time changes their practice that's why they are asking for polio vaccination certificate before visa grant notification, I hope after this your visa will be granted InshaAllah.

BTW I am in Sydney and the weather is beautiful here.

Hey,

I've recently stumbled upon this forum so I haven't followed the entire thread. I was just hoping to reach out to someone who applied for their partner migration visa in June and waiting to hear from the AHC.

I lodged my application on 24th June and got done with my medical on 8th July. The current situation in Isb is delaying the process, I just wanted to know if anyone has been assigned a CO during this period? How long does it generally take for CO to be assigned?

Would appreciate a response!

Thanks!

Hi All,

Alhamdulliah I had my nikkah on last sunday through skype. my wife is in Pakistan. Wana apply 309 for her. Few things I was wondering, can we apply online or we have to apply paper base application in AHC Islamabad. wana apply online but from memory, I have read somewhere husband can’t pay visa fee for spouse if applying online, is it true. Can I use my friends credit card or it necessarily need to be paid by someone outside Australia.

Also due to rain and flood, internet was not working and I had Skype call from phone which had really bad picture quality. So I was not able to record video. What else I can gather a supporting document.

thanks.

Partner; if your CO has not been assigned then how did you get medical request and done it? By the way CO assigning depends on application load, sometimes they have less applications that's why CO assigned quickly and sometimes they have lot of applications which takes a while to assign CO and it also depends on availability of staffs.

================================================

Am25; I suggest you that your wife should apply paper application from AHC Islamabad through AVAC and if you don't have your nikah photo graphs/screen shots/video recording then which evidence you will provide to prove that your nikah has been conducted and both groom & bride are the same as applicant. By the way spouse can pay visa fee in Australia and best option for you is to contact Immigration Department for correct information.

Toba; I suggest you that get correction of your nikah nama(where you mentioned ‘”unmarried” of your marital status) get previous divorce certificate then lodge your application with all evidence of your marriage, do not lie or hide anything from Immigration as they can do and can access anything they want. If you lie or hide something from Immigration it will affect your lodged application.

By the way does your husband know you are a divorcee? If he knows then why are you hiding it from Immigration.

Hi,

If it's already registered in Union Council then get it registered in Nadra too and do necessary changes in your current Nikah Nama, it may take little time but you should get it done quickly as hiding/lying (even unintentional) is not the right approach. You may consider lodging your application now without Nikah nama/Marriage Certificate as you will get CO in couple of months time so in the meantime you correct these docs and submit later.

Hope this helps, if you 've any more questions please feel free to ask.
