My hubby (Solid Plasterer) was taken off the CSL and so we applied for state sponsorship for QLD which we posted off 24/03/09. We have not had an acknowledgement yet, but after reading another thread on here from I think 'Yorkshireclan' he posted his off on the same day as you; 19/03/09 and got his ack letter back on 26/03/09. With this in mind, we were hoping to get our ack letter in the next couple of days, however, perhaps this is not going to happen after what you have said, I suppose we must appreciate there are many people doing the same thing and they will sooner or later get a backlog of applications. More waiting it looks like... Let us know when you get your letter and I will let you know when we get ours. Best of luck! Tasha :spinny:
PJ2OZ
Hi all, Agent appointed Dec 07. Long story short, I'm now on family sponsored 176, and visa processing began 30/10/08. Since new processing time directives in January have come out, I could be in for a LONG, and possibly interminable wait. If changing to State sponsored, will go SA. Occupation, Arborist. As long as it is postmarked before any trade is removed, then you should be fine. So fingers, legs, arms and everything else crossed the next few weeks fly past so we get an answer as soon as possible. Tasha x
KelandKris
Hi All, Isn't this the most stressful thing in the world!!! We applied for our 175 visa in November 2008. As many have experienced we had our occupation (OH is a plumber) taken off the CSL in March. Thankfully, having spoken to DIAC in February when we were concerned our document list not being updated, we applied for State Sponsorship on Feb 13th 2009. We received an acknowledgement email from them telling us that they had received our application and had given us a file number on February 17th. They said that it would be 3 weeks for our application to be processed. Two weeks and 6 days later we emailed for an update. We were told that due to a massive influx of applications (obviously due to the CSL list changes) the processing time would be 3 months from date of receipt! This will take us hopefully to May 17th 2009!!!!!! We are praying at the moment that we get this sponsorship as it seems like the only saving grace for us at the moment. Good luck to all of you x

karlom
Hi all, we were going to apply for 175 but have been advised to go for 176 NSW instead. We are due to get our skills assessment this week. Am I right in saying that once the main application is then made that we will be assigned a CO within the month? and that we would be requested meds and PC withing another few weeks? thanks everyone.....keep the faith! Guest Dionne and Rickie
Hello martinsamba i have no idea if they have a limit they can allocate i dont think so though by what they were staying on the phone. As regard to the list there is a CSLlist for each state and these are being prosessed ahead of the MODL list. We are also using an agent but we did the form ourselves and sent it off the same dat via the post office it was that simple, good luck with your visa......
