  1. HI all, 176 Family Sponsored Application Date: 30/10/2008 Country: UK On/Off Shore: Off Shore LR/HR: VISA Type: 176 Profession: Life Scientist It's hard work waiting - I sympathize with all other offshore cat 5's. It's nearly 4 years now for me and OH, and it's getting harder to be patient! Off to the States for 6 weeks in September, which is probably when we'll get the e-mail we're waiting for. Or is that just being ridiculously optimistic? Hang in there all, if it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen.........
  2. HI Iron Chef, Top quality info thanks for all your help! I have a 1968 Mini Cooper S and wondered whether there is a link to info for importing this to Aus, as it looks like after over 3 years our application may be on the move! Thanks in advance for any help PJ
  3. Thanks Rakesh, I spoke to our agent last night and they sent me a link to the updated situation. Looks like we'll be waiting around a while longer.........
  4. Hi Declan, Thanks very much for the info - if it's ok I'll keep you updated once I've spoken to my agent tonight in Sydney. Info about the processing status greatly appreciated as I didn't know what this actually meant. I have done nothing else on the list so far as I don't have a CO.
  5. HI, I've come back to the forum after a bit of time off - my 176 family sponsored application was lodged Oct 30 2008, so I figure I must be one of the longer servers on here. I've heard nothing since the changes happened last year, but had heard nothing from my agent prior to that anyway. People advised changing to SS, but no State sponsors my skill as Life Scientist, which is what my agent put me down as.
  6. I applied through a migration agent who advised a Skilled - Sponsored (VE176) visa, and it was lodged on the 30/10/2008 (I am categorized as a Life Scientist, which is not on any list). I am going through the family sponsor route, but have heard nothing at all barring a few e-mails from my agent, since the date of the application. Since then a whole lot has changed as we all know. I knew it would take a while, and figured that after 3 years was up I'd look at it again. Now, the status of my application on the Australian website, is marked 'processing commenced'. I am going to contact the agent tonight, but wanted to know if there were any applicants in a similar situation in terms of application duration of 3 years. I know most have changed to State sponsored and I may have to look at this. Any comments gratefully received. PJ
