LisaIan
Hi there, My partner, Ian is a 25 yr old, English electrician with 9 yrs experience in the trade. We're currently in Brisbane and are looking for more permanent roles. Ideally Ian would like sponosrship but we understand this is unlikely in the current situation. Ian doesn't hold a QLD license and apparently isn't eligable to get his qualifications recongnised on a Working Holiday Visa. If anyone hears of any electrical jobs/trade assistant roles we'd appreciate a heads up. Traveling isn't an issue as we have our own transport. Thank you Lisa ljones17@hotmail.com

Guest renton
All my qualifications are in the design industry and are not exactly trade related. But have worked as a sparks mate for a NICEIC registered company for about 10 years so I know the job and the regs, which I recognise might be slightly different in Oz. But I left the electrical game a few years ago to study a degree in 3D Design (specialised in Furniture Design) and currently work in the retail industry doing shop fitting from a creative point of view but I am fairly sure I will not find work in Oz in this field as there doesn't seem to be much design related work in the 'demands list' so thinking of going back the Electrical game. I am hopefully coming over to stay with a mate in Secret Harbour, Perth on a 12 month working visa. Is there much work about there? I heard the recession has hit hard over in Oz, but also got told that that it isn't so bad in Perth due the amount of construction going on. I realise I might not get a position as a sparks mate without papers and am more than willing to do labouring.

Guest paulll
Plumber required for a business specialising in hydronic heating, with a developing geothermal and air source heat pump product offering. Above award pay will be offered to the successful candidate. Those seeking contract and/or full time employment opportunities will be considered. Licenced plumber preferred but plumbers registered with Victorian Plumbing Commission are encouraged to apply. PM me for more details Cheers Paul
Guest hammfam
Hi all, we have been living in Melbourne for over three years now and have just got our licence to become a qualified domestic builder in Victoria. In Victoria you need a licence to build, be a plumber or electrician, it's important to bear this in mind when moving to Victoria, while we could have got a licence quicker than three years the building methods are different in Victoria to the UK and so some time was needed to get to grips with these changes before applying for a licence. As we have now set up a company we may need some assistance in metropolitan Victoria - we will put any posts on if that is the case.
