Hi try n not stress I was asked to provide full course outline as additional info as my transcript was not detailed enough even tho it had been fine for skill assessment anyway it was the last thing needed and about a week after acknowledging they had received it got the e mail confirming eligibility for registration so hopefully will be like that for you too

that made me smile... and breath again, thank you mem, maybe its not so bad after all! good to be reassured :) xx

Hi Shelz

are there any other nurses that you work with maybe in partner agencies? I had a similar situation to yours I work for a national charity and we are split into regional projects with me being the only nurse in my project with non clinical manager I originally asked ANMAC what to do as needed refs for skill assessment and they advised that if there was anyone clinical like doc or medical director that would be ok in conjunction with managers ref or if that not possible then a very detailed ref from manager setting out all aspects of my role and explaining that there was no other clinical person to do ref within the project. I managed to get one of the nurses from a different region to support the ref from manager and even though she did not directly manage or work with me it went through ok and I used the same refs for my AHPRA application and they never queried it

good luck

mem

I have emailed AHPRA back double checking if my clinical supervisor could do a reference (which would be on NHS letter headed paper) outlining what they want and then my line manager to countersign it, im hoping this would be accepted, Im waiting to hear back.:-/ Its the only thing I can think of but the different letter headed paper I think might be a problem...

They also want the professional reference to state that I work as a nurse - Im not sure she can do this - as Im employed as a specialist young parent worker which needed a relevant professional qualification ie. nursing, social work etc to get the job, I undertake community based interventions/ assessments, pregnancy tests/consultations, referral to other agencies etc and I have maintained by NMC registration - so don't know what should be put in the reference to meet this criteria or how it should be worded??? Any suggestions??

AHPRA have given me till the end of January to get items to them - (she gave me a 2 week extension when I requested longer.)

I used a pro forma template for both my references which stated who I was employed by the date I started what my role involves etc and that was competent in nursing duties up to date etc my manager included i her ref that as she is not a nurse aseparate clinical ref was being provided I think that if your role is stated followed by the info that a nursing qualification was required and that you carry out community assessment etc it will cover it I run blood borne virus service so doing some similar things to you only totally nursey thing is vaccinations

if you want me to pm you exact wording of my refs let me know:)

Ok thanks , just wondering because somebody else on pio states because the diphe is comparable when skill assessed by ANMAC , they could claim 15 pts . Dont want to get it wrong as could really do with the pts!

Hi everyone, im going through the AGOS-40 form for AHPRA and have a few questions and would appreciate any help. I have read through the whole thread but just need clarification on a few points. Firstly, can someone tell me the full dialling codes i need to put in front of my home and mobile tel. nos.

At question 12 at 'category of registration' is this where i put 'graduate' (graduated mid Oct this year) or should i put graduate/band 5 or just band 5?? My sister spoke with someone from AHPRA and they said to put 'graduate' at some point on this form then they wouldn't be looking for CPD.

I start a new job on 31 Dec here in UK, should i mention this on form or CV? I dont really want to be asking my new employer for any ref or documentation saying i work there just when i start for obvious reasons but il be sending the reg form off mid/end Jan which means i will have been working there 2/4 weeks!! I wish i had the money to send off before i actually start so then not 'not declaring' if you know what i mean!

Anyhoo, another question - question 29 asks for consent to discuss correspondence with migration agent +/or significant other? Im not using an agent and dont know what they mean by significant other so do i leave this blank??

Any help/thoughts would be great ;)

Hello everyone.

I have read this thread from start to finish as I am about to send off my application to AHPRA. The one thing that's bothering me is the whole university cours/module breakdown etc... Can someone tell me where on the application it states that this should be sent directly from the university? The application form says that a certified copy of qualification including academic transcript etc should be attached to the form and nothing about it being sent directly. I have had all this sent from uni and don't fancy paying again for them to send it off to Oz.

Hopefully they will be happy with what the uni have sent.... Im sensing that AHPRA like to be unnecessarilly difficult?

Is there any other tips/advice people can offer to try and make things go smoothly?

I'm planning on sending applicatio to one of the smaller offices, although by the sound of it everyone else has had the same idea, so things might not be quicker after all hahaha.

Thank you all so much for sharing your knowledge and expriences up to now.... this forum really is like the manual to emmigrating that I always dreamed you could buy!!

I didn't get my transcript sent straight from uni and they were ok with that bit..they weren't ok with the way it was set out, even though uni said they had sent the same one to ahpra for other people and it had been ok, ahpra sent me a layout of what they want it to look like and so i have forwarded this to uni to see if they can do it the way ahpra asked..bit pathetic really as all the info they need is there but anyway there was no changing there minds! If i had to start again i wouldn't send it to Sydney as they seem to be picking faults with a lot of peoples transcripts.

well now they are ok with original transcript i sent :) i knew it was right...anyway doesn't matter as i got letter of eligibility today :) 9 weeks from day i posted it, ohhh i can breath again! So happy. I don't know if 9 weeks is a long time compared to other offices but Sydney were always polite and helpful and answered any emails/calls very quickly...so take back what i said, i was just panicking..i would recommend Sydney lol Still cant believe it xx

....amending last comment, a lawyer does not need to certify your academic transcript, the university will send this directly, the module by module part remains. They will want to know how many practical hours and how many academic hours on each subject...it's what held my application up. Send to the Queensland Ahpra, it's quicker.

Thanks for everyones replies, Isobel I had planned on getting it signed by a justice of the peace, luckily this is a free service where I am...the less cost the better! My uni seem to have been very comprehensive in that there is a full course break down of hours from module to module as well as the learning dimensions and outcomes for each. Hopefully ahpra will see this as enough info. Just double checking that it didn't have to be sent direct from uni as many others have posted. Fingers crossed!

Presenting in person at AHPRA.

I have had my eligibility letter and have arrived in Melbourne. Yesterday, I presented in person with I.D and job offer letter and proof of address. The lady told me there is just the police check now! I can't work until this is back and cleared and they can not tell me how long this will be. Does anyone know or have any idea?

I have had a similar experience with Sydney office and the lady is far from friendly ! It has left me very down hearted about the whole process especially as I have sold our house, got a job offer etc !

All advice welcome !

it feels very complicated but once you get started and maybe list everything you need to do/get and mark them off as you do them, it all starts to come together and you'll feel pleased you stuck at it and think, ahhhh it wasnt so bad in the end :)

Your uni will need to send you a full course transcript, all hours listed, it may have changed since you done it but hopefully they will still have your records, also NMC can give a details on the course you completed too.

Ahpra are very particular about the transcript so make sure your uni knows exactly what you are asking them for.

You will find lots of info on here, i would never have got through ahpra as easily without the info/help i got here so ask lots of questions and it'll all work out.

good luck and enjoy the process, dont stress (too much!)

Contact student services at the uni u attended, request a transcript of ur training, they are normally used to these kind of requests, i think i was able to request mine online. I got the transcript forwarded straight to the ahpra office i was applying to and another copy to my home, just coz i was nosy n wanted to no what it was. The transcript should have breakdown of hours and placements, results etc, i think its luck of the draw if ahpra are happy with it or not, i have heard some people have had theirs questioned. Pm me if u need to
