190 Processing Time

Noticed that the processing time has now been updated to 5-8 months (from 5-6 months I believe?).

Aware that 190 is on hold atm. So how does the processing time reflect the actual process?

I submitted my 190 application after getting the invite in mid Dec last year. Had also done another health check up late Jan this year, but I haven't got any CO contact so far

Looking at MyImmiTracker, seems like very few applicants from Dec onward are getting either DG or even a CO contact. Doesn't seem like 75% of us are getting processed within 5 months?
I can't possibly be the only remaining 10%?

Also if the occupation ends up getting axed from STSOL, would it affect my outcome as I have already received the state nomination? Quite a lot of redundancy in similar roles but I'm thankfully still employed.

Since my EOI application last year, my points have increased by 5 due to work experience. Would re-applying with higher points increases my chance at this stage?

I am onshore, applying for Marketing Specialist in NSW. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Don't know about the other questions but on the points going up one it would not help.

Once you get invited to apply for the visa the points amount is irrelevant (unless you are found to have made a mistake and claimed points you dont have) and 65 point applications and 100 point applications are processed just as quickly

Thanks for the clarification! The waiting game is fueling my anxiety

You'll need to learn how to distract yourself! The only thing guaranteed in an Oz VISA application is that you will spend a long time waiting 😂

The visa situation ended up distracting me from my daily lives instead! I was fine till couple months ago.. But when 6 months passed by without any contact whatsoever... 🙃

I applied for a NSW 190 in Dec 19 to, didn’t front load the HC or PC luckily.
No CO contact yet either.
Just along wait ahead into 2021 for sure!

Ahh, it'd suck if I have to redo everything. But as long as it comes out I guess.. Finger crossed for both of us!

If you front load and all your ducks are in a row, you should receive your grant without any case off contact or previous change in application status. On the other hand, should you have opted out of front loading you are relying on Co contact before your application can progress. Both are personal preference but our agent preferred a ready application. If you happy to wait longer and provide documents retrospectively then not front loading is for you. For us our medicals are done which can trip you at the final hurdle! All the best all. 🙂

Our agent had a similar plan, but the Case Officer was too efficient...

He suggested we late load the PCC and Health Check (i.e. hold them back for a few months but not wait until asked for them) we agreed that we would do them 3-4 months after submission as it was taking 5 months at the time for the CO to even look at the application (thus meaning we got a little longer on their validity).

He called me one monday in early October to say let's do them now, so we booked them and before actually getting the police certs and medical back, the CO set the email asking for them.

Was a good time frame. Our agent was too quoting the same processing times then so was comfortable doing it at the get go. I think they have a spreadsheet on how to delay applications based on information you have provided. I think we were weeks from our grant then the covid wheels came off. Hopefully the 10 nurses they have since drafted in as critical skills makes all the difference in the post covid recovery 🥱along with the engineers. Worry is they seem to be keen on brining in droves of students from the asia region (easy money) which would push us back further as they would occupy every hotel in Australia whist in quarantine, and no doubt a few will be covid etc then we will be sent to back of queue again. 😂 Lo k down etc. School clothes dusted, kids going back to school (ozzie school advised we won't be there sep) who knows when this debacle will end. 😅
