Dita Hall
Hi, My son has missed out his permanent residency because he didn't get any email from the department in Brisbane to fill the 1002 form. Im his mother has granted on April 2020, he is full time student in Indonesia. By this devastating pandemic, we are waiting and waiting his visa since early June, 2020. Do you have any experience how long it would take to process the visa from The Child Visa Department, Perth WA office? Or do we need a lawyer to do compensation? because double cost and law changes. We would need to spend another 3grant to pay hotel quarantine under the Queensland new rules. Thanks

Thanks Being fair to immigration it is not their responsibility to tell you to fill out form 1002, that is your responsibility to do it in order to notify them. Did you have an agent? If so get them to sort it out as currently they are in a precarious situation as this would be negligence on their part. If you didn't have an agent, why not? This sort of paperwork issue is the reason why an agent is worth their weight in Gold, most people would have no idea about these forms, but that is no excuse or reason

It is not the responsibility of the department to tell you o fill the form in, thats down t you, and your agent if you used one. What law changes are you referring to? If you mean the change in quarantine charges there is no way you would get any compensation because of that. And I think you will have to be patient a bit longer. Its not even July yet, and you say you have been waiting since early June. Many people have been waiting far longer than that.

Thanks You may want to provide a bit more detail about your situation if you want to receive any helpful advice, as your situation is not very clear. Also be mindful that the Department's role is to process applications and assess them against the relevant Regulations and Policy. They do not provide advice or instructions.
