Nikita22
Do immigration care if you lied to Centrelink . Why should they care if your a genuine couple ?
Amber Snowball
Because it’s fraud if you claimed money you weren’t entitled to and Governments don’t like that and they are all government departments.
wrussell
If the minister reasonable suspects that you are of bad character, you have a problem.

Even if I’m the sponsor ? It’s not my husbands fault that I didn’t tell Centrelink
OzinEire
Yes I'd say from their perspective if you're willing to commit fraud to centrelink you probably wouldn't have a problem doing it with immigration.
Collie
The bigger ? is why did you lie to Centrelink and steal money from the rest of us? (because that's what it is to fraudently claim entitlements that are funded by taxpayers).
Tulip1
Why did you lie? How does your husband feel being married to someone who does that? And yes, I’d think it would be a big problem if you’ve fraudulently taken money off the state.
wrussell
The matter mentioned will probably not adversely affect a partner sponsorship. May I suggest that you consult a registered migration agent for a considered opinion? As a rule they do not make moral judgments, and neither does Australian immigration.
TheWayOfThePony
How is Immigration being rude here? Because they flagged you for fraud? Seriously?
