We have been trying, and retraining since 2011 and just one week away from putting are skills assessment in. (Only have 60points) Once again gutted. VERYSTORMY
Not that I am aware of, the agents that post on the forum usually do updates, as they are given information from the department.
JetBlast
Can't decide if it good news or bad. Less competition for people with higher points. However it could mean more people going for the 190 and 489 visas.

Yes just keep visiting the SkillSelect website. They are pretty poor at updating the info in a timely manner but it gives you an idea. Send me a message if you want to know another website where you can track the invites of people applying (not allowed to advertise other forums on here). Thanks for this, Sarah. I did notice this note: "The above figures do not include invitations issued for State and Territory Government nominated visa subclasses.". So, these are the direct 189 and 489 visa applicants. I'm wondering if there's a list out there which talks about details of the state-sponsored 190 and 489 visas. horsemad1976
It’s probably game over for us to be honest. 60 points (have industry based qualifications but ACS doesn’t acknowledge them for migration purposes [emoji35]), no degree by 18yrs experience, maxed on English scores already even with a Vic sponsored application will still only bring us to 65. In another 11 months we will loose another batch of points due to age. GUTTED [emoji22]

horsemad1976
Not a complete waste of time as there was always a very slim outside chance of getting accepted. For us it was worth trying, obviously the reality has hit us quite hard my sis who is an AUS Citizen is absolutely gutted for us - the only relative she has in the country is her 8 year old daughter In terms of skills assessment (that took absolutely ages) and the ACS removed 8 years from a 19 year career history due to having to go down the RPL route as my husband doesn't have a degree. He does have industry qualifications that are desired within his field (nearly all the jobs we've seen request it!!) but as they aren't recognised on the AQF for migration purposes (even though the ACS themselves do acknowledge them (!) You'd think if they took the 8 years off you (the experience for being skilled & comparable to a Uni Degree) they'd recognise those 8 years that with a handful of points as the experience within those 8 years almost certainly would have equated to that of a degree. I know its the rules but I can't help but think we are being penalised for not going to University. The irony is here in the UK my husband is a respected Senior Manager within his industry. At least we can console ourselves I guess with knowing that we tried. Thanks to all those that have offered wise words, advise or even general support to us on this forum and via private message. I hope that those of you that continue your journey of migration all the very best.

Would this be an option for your husband? 3 years after gaining this he will also gain 5 extra points and after he will get an additional 5. horsemad1976
He’s working as a Senior Programme Manager in TQA! So networking/developing certifications really aren’t relevant ISTQB is the ‘Industry Internationally recognised’ qualification and he hold advanced level in 3 areas, is on the ANZTB List of certified testers. Most jobs request this cert, it used to be recognised by the ACS up until 2012 I can document in order to be used to claim 10 points under the category ‘An award or qualification recognised by the relevant accessing authority for your nominated skilled occupation’ ACS suggested we did RPL route as we didn’t hold a degree - fine. They remove 8 years experience - fine. But then go on to not recognise ‘THE’ industry specialised qualification is just rediculous! I’ve even asked them to list the qualifications that they do accept that are recognised for the nominated skilled occupation (Software Tester) they refused to tell me!
