As this would give us higher points. We have family in Adelaide and a home to live in? Family to sponsor us. Only 60 points for 190 without family sponser. We have more points for 489 and only 60 for 190 including the 5 points you get for state sponsorship ? I've just read online that it does give you extra points if it's regional sponsorship which South Australia is? This is true but there's people on here that have been waiting the best part of a year for the 189/190 on 60 pts, the 489 seems to be a bit quicker, the only other option is to do ielts again and get a superior I guess, you apply on 60pts re-do ielts or pte and update your application if you get a better score?Probably best speak to an agent, give Ian harrops a call, you'll get honest straight to the point free advice and if you decide to sign up they're a really good agent. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

SUPERSTARDJ01 Posted October 29, 2017 Share Posted October 29, 2017 There is no automatic PR as process for 887 can take a long time and no medicare access, not able to buy a house, in many states school fees for children apply, no support for children etc. The negative aspects on a temporary 489 far outweigh the waiting time for a PR taking into consideration the changes for citizenship which may come into affect in 2018 (longer waiting times)most if not all states give free schooling ton489 holders you're partially covered by the NHS but yes you need medical insurance (which you should get anyway) I'm not saying the 489 is better or equivalent to the 189/190 visas because it isn't but it's still a viable option not a bad one either.
