We had our nomination in December so I just think we have to wait to the timescales. I’m going to put to back of mind and get on with things otherwise I’ll go mad just waiting

It may help to know that processing times vary depending on which country you applied from.  Some countries (like the Middle East) are seen as more "high risk" and applicants are subject to more stringent security checks so they take much longer.  If you're applying from the UK then your application should be on the faster path.

Hi All.
first time posting on here.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience on 186 TRT timelines. I’m PMSOL and accredited sponsor. In Queensland!

Not been waiting long, but I’m at the age now where this is my last shot.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

am currently waiting on my 186 DE (offshore) to be reviewed, the nomination and the application are still sitting as received and I wondered if anyone knew how long UK applications take, generally, to be reviewed and if it would take longer due to it being for a family and not a single person.

Job - Quantity Surveyor

Nomination submitted- 30/11/21

Visa Applied - 18/12/21

Health checks submitted - 13/01/22

Thanks,

We are in the same boat. The company submitted the nomination on the 30th of November ‘21 and we completed application on the 18 December ‘21, followed by the medicals on the 13th of January ‘22.

The waiting is a nightmare, twice daily checks on the portal hoping for it to move from received.

Possibly slightly optimistically, we sold the house and moved in with family so hoping for a visa before our welcome runs out 🤣

Yep I saw that. Updates each month. Well let’s keep fingers crossed. It still surprises me that they take this long. Especially when on the pmsol. Not much of a priority!! Oh well. I’ve resigned myself to a summer in England in my head.

just have to all agree if you get it or anything, to post on here-that’ll probably be last thing on our minds but be good to do it!

I wondered if you knew how accurate the processing times are; we are now getting into the flow of waiting, but I do have a worry in my gut that the times will keep being pushed out and out. We never used an agent and unfortunately the one's I have contacted are not able to offer a consultation as we have lodged the visa already.

Didn't the company use an agent?  Are they used to doing this kind of thing?

The company (for us) just did the nomination and then we have to lodge our own visa or use an agent. When I worked there on a temporary visa previously the company did it all but that was ten years ago.

As I understand it, it's not really a question of "just".  The 186 requires the company to supply a huge amount of financial and other information, and they would usually hire an agent to help them put all of that together.  However if they're used to hiring people from overseas, they may know it well enough not to need help - but in that case, they should be able to give you an idea how long it normally takes.

Well it’s WA health so pretty sure done it before and they say it takes as long as it takes. I asked if they can push along but to know avail

No they haven’t used an agent as I think they have done a few 482’s and 186’s in the past. My profession isn’t really one which Australian  universities train enough of, so I think the sector is used to importing QS’s from the UK.

Hopefully not to long now

S56 request 27-May, because we using an agent only saw email in the morning UK time which would have been close of business Australia time.

S56 documents submitted 30-May Australia time. Feeling a lot more optimistic about sooner rather than later grant.
