Hi All,

Is there a way to get to know that the 186DE nomination is approved? My MA is very lazy and provides information in 3-4 days.

Thanks

@NickB89 The nomination is a tough one as this is (unless specified from the company), not visible to the applicant.

The only persons that would have access to seeing the status of this is the MA and the company (it contains sensitive company and financial information).

Your options are;

1. Rely on the MA and call them for an update from time to time.
2. (Unlikely) Ask your company to allow you access to their Immi account to view and monitor the nomination.

Good luck!

Hi everyone,

It really gives us hope and excitement to see some of you guys getting your visas granted. I am happy for anyone who has gone through extremely stressful processes and finally got their rewards.

Me and my partner has applied to 186 Direct Entry stream. I am the main applicant. We both have been living in Australia for last 2,5 years. Our process has been a little bit more complicated than most of you guys because of myself having a visa refusal.

I currently work for the nominator company as an only engineer and the company relied on me to finish most of the urgent project prior to my leave for lodging the visa application as well as waiting overseas for the decision. Therefore, we decided with our MA to lodge the nomination first and to wait for the nomination approval. Nomination applied on 4 June 2019 and approved on 18 October 2019.

My partner, she has a student visa; myself, on a bridging visa granted by AAT after appealing for previous visa refusal, we had enough time to remain in Australia while waiting the nomination approval.

After getting the nomination, we had another waiting period to put in order prior to the visa application, then finally I got a week off from work and got overseas with bridging visa B for 6 days to lodge the visa application. My partner has remained in Australia as she does not have any visa refusal. MA lodged the visa application on 16 January 2020 and I came back to Australia next day. The MA informed us that he provided all of the necessary documents except medical examinations.

2 weeks later from the visa application, my employer asked me whether I can go to Malaysia. And I called the MA, told him that I need to apply for another bridging visa B (previous one was expired) because I have to go overseas to meet with a customer at Kuala Lumpur. He said there is no problem applying for another BVB but he had another suggestion instead of going and coming back in a week. I'd apply for a new BVB for a longer period of time. Me and my partner would take the health examination prior to my departure and I'd not come back to Australia until immigration makes a decision on our visa application. Considering we already had nomination approval at that time, MA expected that the application outcome shouldn't take too long. I'd spend a week with customer and take paid-leave for the rest of the waiting period which is literally unknown.

I shared this suggestion with my employer and he was happy with the idea, even I didn't have to take paid-leave, I'd work online for him while we are waiting for a decision. It has been a pretty good arrangement for me. And we took this plan in action, we went to BUPA at Sydney CBD and got the health examinations done on 10 February 2020 then I left Australia on 11 February 2020 for work and for further stay if needed. Immigration sent a S56 request for more information on 14 February 2020, just after 3 days of my leave. The status changed to Initial Assessment from Application Received.  We provided all documents on 18 February 2020 and application status is now Further Assessment.

I hope we get our PR soon without surprises. I have to remain overseas until this time.

We just wanted to share our journey. Thanks for your time. Will keep my signature up to date. Waiting good vibes on our case from all of you guys.  Cheers.

It’s been four Weeks my nomination approved and visa status further assessment, not any extra documents ask, anyone cases is like mine?

lets hope lots of good news today

@samiee There are lots of cases like yours and in fact many more people that have waited much longer. If you bored and wanted to see this (related to just this forum), you could go through old pages to read much longer cases.

Unfortunately, no one can tell you how long the exact process can take. I've seen (on this forum alone) a case from nomination approval take 1 day and another take longer than 2 years.
This is all case / application / CO related and there is no rule for exact timelines i'm afraid.

Best advise I can give is for you to hang in there, wait and keep the positive thinking going.

Hi Experts,

Hope you all are fine.

I applied for 186 nomination on 15th May 2019 by my employer / sponsor though a lawyer. Now it is already 9 months crossed but no feedback neither from my sponsor nor from lawyer.

In fact, I am not directly connected with my lawyer to get immediate responses from them.

Current timeline shows 5-6 months for direct entry,  so as I have applied for nomination on 15th May'19 is it possible to get the reply back by next few weeks?

Please help me if you know any possible update for current 186 files.

Thanks.

//Saif

@Micgeo Firstly, congrats on the silver email.

Secondly, the IELTS would be apart of the visa application, meaning they will pick that up when going through the visa documents, not the nomination.

If you know the IELTS is missing, why not upload it / get it complete beforehand? This would avoid the request for more information and delaying the application unnecessarily?

Hex, he might be looking for paying the money instead of submitting the English language score as it is for his spouse application. If this is the case he is definitely waiting for the link where he can pay it off.

Not sure though he might be looking for submitting the original ielts score once he has been told.
