Thank you! A glimmer of hope on this weird day.

Our offices lost power today due to the heat wave in Melbourne and we had to cancel a major event. Fun times. Maybe the universe will repay me with my PR soon. Please?!

Hey Millie!

Very similar profession (basically falls under the same code).

I'm from UK and my Boyfriend (dependent) is from Ireland.

@Gighen87 - thanks that is great to know.... hoping its not too much of a wait, my 457 expires in 12th May so will be on Bridging Visa from then, I have a lot of overseas trips this year so ideally want it before the travel (to avoid any further costs on Visas !)

Thats great, lets keep each other posted!!

Has anyone planned a pregnancy or had IVF whilst waiting for their visa?

I lodged my visa on May 24th 2018 - Advertising Specialist - NSW - LR country - Onshore

We were planning to start our first round of IVF in the next month.

I have already submitted all my medicals, would I have to do them again? Or does it alter my visa status if I get pregnant?

My choice i guess is to wait till my visa is approved which could be as early as April but could be as late as another whole year??

Or go ahead and delay the visa process? I guess i have a unique experience that I get to choose the day i concieve as opposed to couples who fall pregnant during this process... is it worth waiting?

Hey @Kashif.Iqbal, just wondering what this was and whether your lawyer is privy to info from DIBP that others are not? Or just here-say?

Been following progress on here for last six weeks while on my first trip home to family in 6 years of being in Australia! Congrats to all those who received grants, and commiserations to those who received refusals; I've had one before so know how tough it is. I'm also applying with a start-up so a little worried this time around too...

@Bellabonkers I also had the same thought as your bottle of bubbly in the fridge as a way of positive thinking/law of attraction; the bottle of expensive whiskey is 2 more years mature due to the first refusal....but will hopefully taste all the better

good luck to all still waiting!

Absolutely 100% do NOT put your life on hold and risk not conceiving for the sake of this visa...

What if its another 2 years? Your chances of falling pregnant shrink as the time goes on!

Seriously nothing is worth that!

I don't care what anyone says.... GO FOR IT!

Falling pregnant whilst waiting for a visa is MORE then common and is simply just another form to fill in!

All the best,

Bella

Oh so its just a form? It wont delay the process at all? Thank you so much for the encouragement.

Dear Tiziana, I feel for you and I'm exactly in the same situation, cook 16 june 2017.

Probably you and your husband are tired as I am, I suppose you guys as well found a sponsorship and sacrifice a lot of your life to stay here!

Listen to me, you're not alone

I've worked so many extra hours for disgusting money hungry bastards, I started my job with all the passion and the experience I have and now waiting for my visa to be approved and in those days I became to strongly belive that I'm not going to have a positive outcome at the end of this story for many reasons, lets clarify them:

1 I work for dodgy people

2 Is a shit business and only people on visa and miserables are working there, in fact they abused of sponsorship because is the only way for them to find workers ( god is great, government changed the rules isn't like that anymore) since then no more new cooks/chefs

3 With me, 3 other cooks waiting long time for pr

4 Visas can be refused for different reasons, so even if you are a good, lived in Australia for many years, did everything correctly sure not a criminal ecx they have the power to rejected you because of business nominations for example

5 Cook is not on the long term list, and so far I only seen cook application rejected, not approved

6 Is unbelievably unfair the waiting time, a total joke.I'm suspicious that they don't look at ur application to take time and advantage the business before they rejecting

Would I do the same again?

Absolutely not, but I had a good lesson

So what to do when you know all this things?

I choose to do so, and I will go until the end

Whatever you decide to do just make sure if for the best and the happiness of your family, then you'll win anyway!

Good luck! xx

Its same with me guys...im wating from april 2017 apply as a cook...nomonation approved last year in march same time immi request for afp check that provided but  still no news...its look like all cook files they put on hold

Yes, you will just have to advice the Immigration Department through form 1022 (Changes of Circumstances) and that is it. 😃

Go for it!!!!!

Wait, are you for real???  That's all it is?

I thought that surely that if I were to take maternity leave during this wait then that would indicate that my business doesn't "need me"?

A note to mention that I haven't spoken to my MA about this, but I have just been delaying family planning until everything is resolved to be 100% certain that I don't give the DIBP a reason to reject my application.

Well, as far as immigration documentation, all you have to do is let them know your circumstances have changed. Buy hey, I am nobody, is best for you to check with an Migration Agent. Do whatever suits you best. Good luck!

[...]

do you guys have experience in sending documents to Immi directly through email? Asking that because I cannot do anything on my Immi Online portal as the original application has been finalized Mid 2016 (refusal) and then successfully appealed.

[...]

A few (tens of) pages back I asked if the medicals had to be redone if the exams where listed as (Completed) on the request.
The MA confirmed that there is no need to do so as it means they have recent ones that can be used.

Quoting and answering myself here.

It's fine to send documents and replies through email if you cannot access your online immi account for cases similar to mine.

Regarding the medicals have been asked today to redo them anyway. Reason being that these were valid at the time of their request for further information, but are not anymore now that they looked at the papers...

So yeah, even if listed at completed once they request the info you would be better redoing these anyway if are going to expire in a month or two.

Please, keep all your prehensile appendages crossed for us... After almost 40 months on a bridge visa we might be getting there!

Thank you!!  Sadly it's still "received" and the timeline in the mini account online for my application has increased from 10 - 14 months to 11 - 16 months... 😐

I've (hopefully)  updated my signature now!
