Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thanks, Praveen Processing centre was NSW PESE and it was necessary to do skills assessment as had been on 457 for less than two years. We are on-shore if that helps. We know you have been waiting since 12 August and hope your time comes very soon. All the best.

Sorry to hear this Sue Sent using Poms in Oz mobile app I actually called my MA today for peace of mind because Marketing Specialist is on the STSOL. She was super reassuring and told me that my application (186 DE) would not be impacted by the changes. Still after 10 months in the wait, it's hard not to be concerned by the current changes. Anyways, coming from the tech industry, I find that the following article explains pretty well the consequences the recent changes might have on the ability for Australia to innovate in that sector: http://www.news.com.au/technology/innovation/the-100000-job-no-australian-is-qualified-to-do/news-story/400cbc76d5b8fdb0e427481b0435e7d8 The most disappointing part for me is that Malcolm Turnbull knows better than anyone else how valuable the tech industry (check OzEmail) can be.
Sue2017
my visa is not refused. the refusal was the nomination. The new changes has imposed certain salary rate and my application was applied under old salary market range. Also, earlier we used to submit the skill assessment after the visa nomination and new rule is he skill assessment needs to be positively assessed before or at the time of visa application hence it was refused. rinilly
More rough immigration accouncements today, this time on citizenship. The biggest bummer (in my mind) is the wait time for applying for citizenship has increased, up from a 1 year PR requirement to now 4 years PR (instead of 4 years in Australia on any visa, as it is currently). Don't know how many of you in line for PR were thinking about citizenship as the next step, but I was and am feeling very sad about this change. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/national-affairs/citizenship-changes-revealed-fluent-english-four-years-of-residency-australian-values/news-story/47a5be9d81ba98145673cfd65fa44c85

Our MA challenged the request for this and for an employer letter confirming two further years' employment (a pernamanet contract of employment had been submitted) on the grounds that it was "outside policy". No further documents were submitted and nomination and visa were both granted a few days later (yesterday). Hope this helps.
