I'm still waiting!! no news or contact yet.

Applied through MA on the 30th March 2015 both visa and nomination.

Occupation: Boilermaker

Based Regional Queensland we never had to pay the nomination of $540 either seen as we are regional.

457 transition scheme. My 2 years on my 457 elapsed early January so applied as soon as I could.

British citizen so guessing low risk

i don't understand how some visas are very quick and some take months and months.

Then again Australians are processing the things, so no wonder why it takes so long.

There won't be any indication of an expiry date on your certs, but it's a legal requirement as a supporting document for your visa application. It's stated here that your police clearance is valid for 12 months on the immigration website: http://www.border.gov.au/Lega/Lega/Form/Immi-FAQs/how-long-is-my-police-check-valid-for

P.S. It doesn't matter whether you've travelled overseas in the last year. If you're feeling anxious about this, best to reapply just in case so you have it ready at hand should they request for it.

I just called 02 88614353 and asked is there any expiration date for PCC & AFP, she said it's valid upto 12 month by the time of lodging the visa. If I lodged my visa on June and PCC/AFP is under 12 month then it's valid then it doesn't matter when CO will open my file.

Now, they are currently looking February's visa applications, immi - NSW admin said.
