  1. I'm still waiting!! no news or contact yet. Applied through MA on the 30th March 2015 both visa and nomination. Occupation: Boilermaker Based Regional Queensland we never had to pay the nomination of $540 either seen as we are regional. 457 transition scheme. My 2 years on my 457 elapsed early January so applied as soon as I could. British citizen so guessing low risk i don't understand how some visas are very quick and some take months and months. Then again Australians are processing the things, so no wonder why it takes so long.
  2. I hope not i am 30th march for both nomination and visa i have not heard a thing
  3. It was lodged on the 31 March 2015 so it's been 3 months today. Just having a moan about the costs and how long it takes my MA told me they had reached the threshold this year though so I am just going to have to stick it out, I just need the weight of this 457 visa of my shoulders it's doing my head in.
  4. Obviously the whinging paid off lol i am going to whinge more now on here might get my visa by the end of the week
  5. Not only only that but if it is a "transition" would this not be quicker? As you have proved you can hold your own and been good/followed the laws for at least 2 years on a 457 visa, paying your way. Ploughing money into the economy! What made me laugh is when I went for the medical. I had a travelling 417 visa first for 2 years then moved to a 457 which I have been on now 2 and half years. Both of those visas 417 and 457 I was never required blood tests or medicals. I jokingly told the nurse I could have been spreading HIV for the last 4 years, she was shocked I had never had a medical. So much for tight borders. One more rant a lot of insurance cover over here only covers permanent residents too. So you cannot always get the cheapest insurance. And I am not even going to mention mortgages. Right enough from this whinging Pom back to the waiting game.
  6. What really gets my back up about all this waiting is the fact I have paid 10k to get PR. I have worked every day since I got here and paid tax, the amount of money these guys are making of us all must be insane.
  7. My timeline 457 to ens 186 transition scheme. Visa and nomination submitted by MA on .... 31st March 2015 medicsl done on .....April 16th 2015 still waiting 78 days and counting. based in regional Queensland
  8. Not not sure how it works, that's why I'm using an agent, they told me they keep checking even though they had info sent around that the threshold was reached. Just keep on living the dream
  9. My MA informed me 186 visas have reached there threshold for This financial year and they will slowly start moving again from th first of July employer nomination and visa sent 31st March 2015 medicals done 16th April

    hi from england

Hi jamie I am a fully qualified apprentice trained and have 13 years experience, as a pipefitter/welder with gas tickets for industrial, commercial and domestic. Unfortunately they mean nothing here mate. I have been here in QLD 12 months (we volunteered for our extension) I have applied for 100s of positions and been knocked back by all. Because Im a welder I applied for a Boilermaker position and got it. just thought i would give you heads up and bring plenty of money its not cheap over here living on the exchange rate.
