VERYSTORMY
To be honest, the expos are of limited benefit as they are there to sell you things.
Marisawright
Yes, expos are a bit of a con as they're just there to paint a rosy picture so they can sell you things. Better to book a consultation with a MARA-registered agent who can give you chapter and verse on how it works without the sales pitch. It used to be that pay for most jobs was higher in Australia, BUT that's definitely no longer the case. However I believe midwifery is one of the occupations which is still paid well so you're in luck. I notice you've asked a question about that on another thread so I'm sure someone will come along to answer. Any particular reason for choosing NSW or Cairns? NSW is a big place and Cairns is completely different again.
dreamitliveit
Hey I am a Nurse and have been thinking about moving to Aus for the past 4 years with my husband and dog and have been to a good few expos and they are a waste of time. I decided to save up and go a mini backpacking trip to Aus and decide if it was for me so I am now in the process of saving up and gathering all the paper work I need for my skills assessment. I would say read up online about what you need to do to gain your Visa and have fun planning your adventure....good luck!
Ahmad Shady
It's much easier to get a job when you're in Australia than when you're overseas IMHO
