LotteB
Hi! Please can someone offer some advice. I was hoping to secure some bar work in addition to my regular 9-5 office job for the company who sponsored me to come here. Does anyone know please if I could take work in a bar/restaurant to supplement my income while I'm here - or since I'm on a 457 to a particular company, can I only work for them? Thanks in advance! JockinTas
Even if you could take on a 2nd job be aware that it is taxed at the highest level. One of my sons found it was hardly worth his while.
blossom
The op is not allowed to take a second job, so the tax is irrelevant.
Deh
One of the 457 visa conditions is you can only work in your nominated occupation, and for the employer that has sponsored you.
MaggieMay24
It should state on your visa grant notice that you can only work for your nominating employer and in your nominated occupation, so unfortunately no you can't take a part-time job.
