I think they gave the guy false hope on the PE teacher front. I am a teacher and I know so many PE teachers that cannot get work over here. PE is very oversubscribed and very competitive!! Also the whole 'lets go to a wildlife park because this shows us a great quality of life'. You can go to a wildlife park in the UK if you want!! For me being in Australia is all about doing the things you CAN'T do in the UK. They tend to use a wildlife park too many times on that show. After each programme there is an update on the WDU website giving an update on each family. As of December 2013 the family today are staying put in the UK (SUPRISE SUPRISE).
