    Im not sure that's true as people have been approved only yesterday in the 186 visa thread

    Can a 457 visa holder who wants to transfer to a new employer do so after the proposed changes? That still isn't clear but perhaps an RMA on here may have better insight? I have a 186 TRT visa currently lodged but there may be some cut backs at work very shortly so Im looking at my options...

    Yep. I think we are at the bottom of the pile to be quite honest...and they haven't even got to the huge app influx dates of May / June!! I wouldn't be so annoyed if they were more transparent and didn't put unrealistic processing times on the website. Complete joke.

    I very much doubt the Australian public cares about people trying to emigrate here. In fact most Australians according to the latest figures are against migration to their country thats not essential. And yes there are caps on occupations, they sat in on the website but do not specify which occupations it relates too. From what I can decipher though it is almost certainly marketing specialists, cooks/chefs, and accountants.

    Yeah i agree. It's just when you hear nothing at all about that particular occupation it becomes hard not to speculate..

    And they dont seem to be processing any marketing specialists at all right now. I haven' heard of anyone receiving a visa for that occupation in 9 months...

    Its obviously to do with the upgrades. People need to relax a little. I have cause to be more worried than most on here but what ive learned going this nightmare (again) - super stressing over the tiniest thing aint going to change anything. Annnnnd....breathe...

    I was thinking before...where does it say any new processes, requirement etc etc start in March 1? Not seen that written anywhere but maybe I just missed it?

    Maybe you were right on the occupation being the risk. Annoying given my employer is major approved one, im a director, and a high earner. FFS
