  1. Yeah, I'll def keep my eye on it now, we were reading how Mount Gambier is the Ice Capital of Australia which was a bit off putting so we are looking at a few suburbs in Adelaide as well ... Moana seems to have alot of new builds and development and a disney feel! haha If only we could get the visa grant through or even some case officer contact! we could better move forward with plans... meh!
  2. Thanks Jenki, seems to me that we could still qualify for this even though we are home owners in the UK. might be worth taking a look at some new builds in SA!
  3. Thanks for the insight, this is all very helpful, does anyone know what kind of reliefs you can get from stamp duty?
  4. We are (crazy!) & considering buying blind from the UK! But we kinda know where we want to be and have family to check out properties for us. Didnt know their were added costs for temp visa holders, and again I'm thankful they dropped the high points to 80 in July, which gave us the added bonus of the 190.... now if only the visa would get granted! meh!
  5. Oh no! Have you looked into the cost of having it done privately? or even in Oz? We have a minor medical item that we're going to get looked at in Oz if needs be, even found a really good specialist in Adelaide. We just want to go now ... although the way processing times are going, we may get it done here anyhoo! haha [emoji16]
  6. Submitted 190 28th Nov 2018 .... still recieved and the waiting is so disheartening. I'm sure we'll all get granted soon [emoji16]
  7. I got my employer to write me a detailed reference based on the vetassess requirements. we used it to fill in the vetassess form, EOI, final visa application and Form 80. never updated my CV .... but now you've pointed it out [emoji23] I just saw it as being consistant, it was just a list of tasks for each job role held, so I'll expand on it for my CV more obviously. Just be careful, Im sure HR will only sign off on something truthful, make sure they keep a copy so they can verify it if vetassess contact them :)
  8. Yup! 6k! and someone who is widely advertised on another pommie website I'm sure we've all been to - not here. fingers crossed we're all good. If I've made a mess of it, we'll def get an agent involved [emoji1787]
  9. We havent used an agent so far, I got an initial assessment and it told me less than I'd already researched and it cost £80 and we were quoted £6,000 to complete the application! So I've just took each stage as it comes, thinking I could get an agent involved if I feel I'm out of my depth. Work assessment and State Sponsorship done no problem and Visa application submitted so we'll see if I've saved us £6,000 or created a big mess very soon hopefully. I guess it depends how complex your case is and how comfortable you are completing the forms, paperwork and navigating the strange system. Good luck whatever you decide [emoji16]
  10. meh! thanks for confirming my thoughts, fingers crossed they dont take forever!
  11. Just wondering, is it all 489s that have been granted so far? I'm hoping our 190 will come in a similar timeframe but dont think I've seen a 190 granted for a fair while ... meh!
  12. soooo, with todays updates though I'd update Jetblast's tracker [emoji16] Dan S - GRANTED - Arriving 4 March Jimbo - GRANTED - est Arrival March FIS - GRANTED - est Arrival April Jetblast - GRANTED - est Arrival April/May SJA - GRANTED Jonno1981 - Waiting Day 107 Jenki75 - Waiting Day 91 Renault - Waiting Day 90 Gurinder Kaur - Waiting Day 84 Jellica - Waiting Day 79 D32 - Waiting Day 77 Jonandsophietravel - Waiting Day 63 Leighmarsh151084 - Waiting Day 60 Joesline - Waiting Day 23 Sonia - Waiting Day ??
  13. @Renault we applied on 28th Nov so still early days but I'm just ready to go, so being impatient! haha @Offtooz we applied through the high points category no problem and SA seemed to just process in order of submission, if you meet their criteria, they sponsor you - not like alot of other states who pick and choose. Thats our experience anyway
  14. Exciting stuff, good luck with all the planning, its gonna be a busy few months for you. We were hoping for May but it all depends on the visa .... and it still says RECEIVED! meh! I guess as ling as we get it eventually, all good [emoji16]
  15. Not 100% sure what your asking... hopefully this helps a little Both the Chain Migration and High Points categories open up a longer list of occupations for SA state sponsorship, the supplementary skills list, they are explained here on the website: https://www.migration.sa.gov.au/skilled-migrants/nomination-process/skilled-nomination-requirements/chain-migration-family-member-in-south-australia https://www.migration.sa.gov.au/skilled-migrants/nomination-process/skilled-nomination-requirements/high-points your occupation is already on their primary state nominated list so you wouldnt need either Chain Migration or High Points anyway... Looks like you need Proficient English and 70 points and can only apply for the 489 from offshore and their is a link to additional information that you should read. This is all copied and pasted off the migration.SA website where all the information you need about obtaining state sponsorship is available - you would be better reading that first hand. [emoji3]
  16. you may be in luck Jimbo, looks like Jetblast is considering bringing his moving date forwards! Haha
  17. Welcome :) getting to be quite a group of us all headed for SA! I think you've just added another Beer to this steadily increasing first round for the first to get there! haha
  18. I have looked at heaps of amazing places, we are considering being a bit crazy and buying from the UK! Be nice to land and start settling, hopefully Brexit doesn't ruin our chances of selling up!
  19. Haha! Awesome! you'll be nice and settled in by the time we all get there [emoji23] In all honesty, I would love to get there first amd buy the beers [emoji6]
  20. Waiting ... logging in ... RECEIVED! meh! Wait some more! Glad your sorted with Police checks Jenki, fingers crossed, we'll all be booking flights and worrying about what to ship soon
  21. We are on day 47 for the 190 ... fully front loaded and I think a few others are too Booo! to the idea that they are processing the 489 faster although the 489 used to take longer amd the published times for both 190 and 489 are currently the same! for an idea, Jenki and Jonandsophie posted the link to a tracker for SA sponsored visas - I think its the first post on page 31 or 32 of this thread :)
  22. 5 weeks as Jetblast has kindly responded already - this is the best place to check https://www.migration.sa.gov.au/resources/processing-times
