  1. Wouldn't have thought so! I know that it's advisable not to overly supply documents and to keep it simple and relevant, but i think an AFP check is pretty relevant. For the $40 or whatever it could just shave off a bit of time for a CO processing. (note: this is pure speculation and isn't based on any evidence!) I filed them in 'Other documents' and labelled as "[Name]_Good-Character-Evidence_Recent-Aus-Police-Check"
  2. We actually supplied a new Aus police checks with our application. Judging by these comments it looks like we didn't need to! However it could work in our favour potentially, as we haven't left the country long enough to need any checks from other countries... the application was in a way 'decision ready' when we submitted.
  3. You have to enter your PR grant number or TRN in to page 2 or 3 of the form (can’t remember exactly which), it then pings a database and checks for your eligibility date, if your PR grant is less than one year old it doesn’t let you continue.
  4. Nice! And could you tell me how you first discovered your application update with the test date - did you receive an email or did something change within Immi Account? Thanks.
  5. Hey LAG. Wow that's crazy quick. Could I ask the basic details of your application? - How many applicants, which pathway, low risk/high risk country etc?
  6. Have a look at this site: http://sharemytimeline.info/
  7. Hey Are you applying for PR or citizenship? Citizenship by any pathway is not dependent on employment (a particular job or employer). No work related documents need to be submitted for a citizenship application. Tom
  8. Ha! Yes 36 hours would be great. In all seriousness though, taking in to account the activity I've seen recently I'd be happy to have a test booked in within 8-10 months. That'd be a good outcome. But yeah - try and mentally prepare for 12-18 months. Things been good! Definitely glad to be off the 457 what with all the changes discussed/implemented in the last couple of years. Also glad not to have a 186 to put in or wait for!
  9. Seems crazy all over the place/pot luck, kinda like our 186 wait haha. Have seen 3 months to ceremony, also seen 16-18 months with no test appointment.
  10. Quick google search, everything you should need is here: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/citizenship/test-and-interview/overview
  11. Just landed on the first page of this thread by mistake - wow how things have changed since 2015
  12. In the period i was waiting for my 186 TRT the applications did appear to be looked at in waves relating to occupation. Months might go by without a single cook appearing to be granted, then BOOM - a month of all the cooks being granted. It's really difficult and frustrating, but that's just the joys of visas i'm afraid! Tom
  13. Interesting processing times update for May haha. Doesn't the row 1 time plus the row 2 time usually equal the row 3 total time (application to ceremony)? I kind of looks like it's been 'half updated'!
  14. That makes sense. Given we've declared this holiday and it's only a month in to our wait, i can't see it'll be an issue. We may have to pay closer attention to booking an overseas trip to visit family next year though!
  15. Great, so unlike visa to visa bridging periods, we don't get allocated a bridging visa or different conditions between PR and citizenship? It'd be just our luck to be caught out on the way back from holiday!
  16. Just a quick one to double check - our 186 visas issued in June 2018 are still active whilst we're in application for citizenship, right? I stated on the citizenship app that we're away for a month in Europe next month. Is it correct that we don't have to arrange bridging visas if our 186 is still valid?
  17. Happy to say we've officially joined the queue! Hahaha. Date Applied: 16/06/2019 City/Council Area: Moreland City (VIC) Online/Paper: Online Date of Citizenship Test: TBC Date of Approval: TBC Country: UK
  18. Ah thank you. I do think it's a little strange as surely a multi page PDF is a lot easier to handle at the other end than a heap of jpeg images! But nevertheless, if that's what others have experienced then i'll just do it as best i can. I just like to have this stuff all really neat and tidy! Thanks again.
  19. Hi all Since we last used Immi Account about a year ago the doc upload part looks to have changed. I've arranged all our evidence as really neat and tidy PDF docs, but now it seems to be converting each page in to a jpeg image?? Is this normal? For example, a 10 page PDF doc which is a signed rental agreement, it's showing 10 uploaded jpeg images instead of a single PDF doc. Is this OK? Seems a bit weird! Thanks for any insight. Tom
  20. Not in our case. Our PR was granted 14 June 2018 and at midnight last night the form on Immi Account let me continue (it previously stopped me when i had tested earlier). 14 June 2018 - end 13 June 2019 is equal to 1 year, literally speaking, therefore 00:01 on 14 June 2019 and the application is allowed.
  21. Cheers. I found a couple of other posts about this online and have selected 'No' for my parents. It's just strangely worded!
