  1. Hopefully yes - but I'm not sure if we will fulful the criteria anyway. I think we need to get some professional advice.
  2. @Wishfull Your figure is certainly closer to my calculations. I can't understand where we went wrong. The big thing that I am feeling desperate about is the lack of communication. If our daughter doesn't fulfil the requirements (as it is now obvious that she doesn't) why on earth can't they tell us so that we can get moving with additional assurers. Will they just sit on the application and say nothing, other than you have to wait!!
  3. Maybe we have been working with totally incorrect figures then. But surely they could have come back to us straight away if we were nowhere near the figure required. We can always get a 2nd assurer. I had the following for 1 Jul 2016, I know the figures will have increased since then due to annual iuncreases: Example (worked on the NSA rate is $14,869.40 as at 1 July 2016): if one person gives an AoS for 2 adults the income requirement will be $44608.20 and the base FTB Part A rate and the applicable supplement amount of $2251.50 multiplied by the total number of the assurer's children (2)) = $4503.02. Total amount required = $49111.22
  4. I completed the on-line questionnaire which calculates the amount needed and put in 143 Visa and it came up with just over AUD 88K which I reckon is about AUD20K up on last year's requirements, unless I am reading things wrongly.
  5. Now I am more and more concerned. Having read the new criteria for AoS it would seem that our daughter will not fill the requirements regarding income. Does her application go by the old rules or the new ones. This is so frustrating, especially as we will not need her financial support at all as we are fortunate enough to have adequate guaranteed pensions in place. What do we do now? More worries to add to the pile already there.
  6. We had an e-mail from IMMI on 22 Jan with a small query which was easily sorted. They also said that AOS was still outstanding. We advised them that this had been submitted on 3 Jan. We checked at the 8 week point to make sure that Centrelink had everything they needed and they confirmed that they did - just have to wait, and wait, and wait, and wait........... It would seem that once the AOS is approved we are good to go - hopefully not too long now.
  7. Certainly agree with you about the worry over health checks. Thank goodness we passed ours. Even though we feel fit and healthy you just never know what it could have thrown up.
  8. We Brits are so good at queuing but I always feel that this system is like standing in a queue at the supermarket tills. One till has people who have to pay slightly more for their goods but they go through quicker. A few people in the other till, after queuing for a while, decide that they would rather pay a bit more and go through quicker so they swap queues. We would expect (in the supermarket) that they would join the end of the queue, not go right to the front as with the change from 103 to 143. I hope we'll get to the head of the 143 visa queue and be served soon!
  9. Do so hope that when he gets back in touch with Centrelink it will be good news. Fingers crossed!
  10. We haven't even had our AOS approved yet. You'll all know when we have!!!!
  11. Go into "My Account" and then into "Signature" and you can then enter the info.
  12. We did everything as soon as requested but still waiting for AOS approval. I know it is going to happen some time but it is very hard when people who applied after us are getting their visas. Hey ho, keep smiling!
  13. For us it definitely seems to be a holdup at Centrelink which is creating the problem. However, I don’t think it is entirely Centrelink’s fault. I do question the way that people were (maybe still are?) asked to get their paperwork ready ahead of time. All those people of course went to Centrelink straight away and it seems that their AOS was approved in a reasonable time frame for most. That has unfortunately created a backlog for those of us who had to wait until we were contacted to submit our paperwork within 28 days.
  14. @TinaHThey may well be processing up to 9th April, but as we haven't yet had our AOS approved we won't be making any progress. This is where you who were asked to prepare your docs in advance have an advantage. When it gets to your date for processing you will have all our ducks in a row! Do you have a case officer yet?
  15. No, no contact from CO yet. We are waiting on approval of our AOS which was lodged 8 weeks ago. Hopefully we will hear something soon.
  16. So pleased to hear that you have had some progress. It's 8 weeks today since our AOS was lodged. Still no word yet. Hopefully not long now.
  17. If it's any consolation the same happened at this time last year. There was no movement from 31 Jan until 13 Mar 16 and then things started to pick up again - like it moved a month in 3 weeks! Here's hoping!
  18. We certainly didn''t hear anything until the processing date advised by IMMI reached our submission date. Hopefully it won't be too long until they move on to 23 Apr.
  19. I hear what you say but by asking people to get their documentation prepared beforehand is exacerbating the problem with getting AOS approval. People are obviously submitting their AOS paperwork as soon as they are advised to start preparing documentation which is creating an even bigger log jam for those of us who weren't asked to prepare in advance. People who submitted their visa application after us were asked way back in October to start preparing their documentation. This they did (including submission of AOS paperwork) and as a result they now have their visas. We, on the other hand, are still waiting for AOS approval as we were not asked to submit until 22 Dec and our paperwork went to Centrelink on 3rd Jan. Frustrating is certainly one word for it!
  20. @TinaH Not necessarily. I'd be betting that you get your visa approved before us. There was a recent case of a visa being submitted on 18 Mar 15, AOS submitted 12 Oct 17, AOS approved and all docs submitted 14 Jan 18 and visa granted 15 Feb 18. Doesn't seem to be any real logic! Nothing we can do but wait with fingers crossed!
  21. What fantastic news. Many, many congrats. I think it will still be a while before we can celebrate. Still waiting for our AOS to be approved. Enjoy every minute!
  22. No - we are still waiting to have our AOS approved. 7 weeks now since we submitted everything. You were one of the lucky ones I think who were asked to get their paperwork ready early. We had to wait until 22nd Dec before we were asked to get things moving. So although you submitted your application a month after us you were able to get your medicals, police checks and AOS completed at least a month ahead of us!
