  1. You have to go to specified centres. We went somewhere near Birmingham. We had 30 days from requesting them to have them done.
  2. Our sponsor was just short of the requirement in the first of the 2 assessed years! So that would have been obvious from the start - but they took forever to tell us. We thought we had calculated correctly but obviously didn't!
  3. Yes Linda - you are quite correct. We waited for ages, and phoned a number of times only to be told that it was on the system. Eventually during yet another phone call they decided to say that we had been rejected. Not the happiest time of our visa application experience. But it has all worked out well in the end. We have our visas activated and now just need to sell the house. Having a yard sale tomorrow - busy sorting and pricing things. Just hope the weather holds!
  4. Exactly a year since we got our request for more info. So things have moved just over 4 months in a year! We completed our Form 80 on line but I would think a scanned one would be acceptable - perhaps someone else out there knows the answer to that one. Definitely a scanned copy of the police clearance and a colour copy your passport photo page will be OK. We waited until we had everything together (except the medical results) and sent them all by e-mail. So pleased for you - it is a lovely Christmas present isn't it!
  5. I don't think you can. We paid just over a month ago and it was definitely either bank cheque or credit card.
  6. Us too - visa granted on 26th September - first entry no later than 2nd January 2019.
  7. A while ago they were quoting high numbers in May/June 2014 being the reason for the delay - maybe they just keep the same excuse, just adding on a year each time. Unless of course May and June each year yield a higher number of applications!
  8. Shouldn't be too long. For us, once it was received at Northbridge the visa was issued the same day. The delay was for the registered mail to get there - took nearly a week!
  9. Thank you! Yes, it is a wonderful feeling, although slightly surreal at the moment. Strange to wake up in the morning and not have to check the e-mails to see if anything has happened! Hopefully the house sale won't take too much longer now.
  10. Thank you. We have to be there before 2nd January - the anniversary of our police checks. So very little time to get anything organised. We will probably do a quick trip over in November/December just to activate the visas and then come home and hopefully get the house done and dusted. Can't believe it has actually happened - at last!!
  11. 42 months, 2 weeks and 1 day later AND WE HAVE OUR VISAs. Can hardly believe it. Now we just need to sell the house.???
  12. Thank you! Yes we now need to sell our house. The Governor of the Bank of England hasn't helped by saying a no-deal Brexit will lead to a 30% drop in house prices!
  13. That would be fabulous. Just need to get the house sold then and we're off!! They took 24 weeks to reject our first AoS application! They have moved quicker on the second one thanks goodness, probably because they messed up so much with the first. Hopefully IMMI will continue the good work!
  14. AT LAST. Just a week short of 8 months since our first AoS submission and our daughter has received the approval letter. Hard to believe that we are a step closer!???
  15. When did you pay your AoS bond? Just wondering how long it took from that to them asking for 2nd VAC.
  16. Well, one step closer. Our daughter paid the AoS bond today. Despite already having a Commonwealth bank account and making an appointment she was still at the bank for over 2 hours! Now just needs to take all the paperwork to Centrelink tomorrow. Then we wait again. But at least things are moving!?
  17. At last we have some good news. Our daughter received a letter on Monday morning advising her to contact Centrelink for her AoS interview before 10th August. She did that this morning and everything went well. She now just has to wait for the letter requesting the bond and hopefully we will get moving! Can't believe that we have at last got something positive going on. They obviously gave her application priority in view of the complete mess up they made with her first submission.
  18. Could you tell us when you submitted the AoS application - how long did it take from submission to interview and then request for bond?:
  19. Unfortunately the dates are still not showing properly. I used the pop up calendar to enter the dates and it is coming up American version. i.e. 12th March 2015 shows as 03/12/15. I understand if you enter without using the pop up calendar the correct date show. A shame this hasn't been fixed as I was looking forward to using it.
  20. I'd heard differing times, 12 weeks and 18 weeks. Why on earth then are Centrelink giving estimated times for processing of only 6 weeks. Communication is sadly lacking in all aspects of this process I'm afraid. If they told us the truth in the beginning it wouldn't make the waiting any easier but it would at least be a little less painful.
  21. Yes - correct. She kept phoning and calling in at the office and they always told her all the paperwork was there and it was just waiting to be processed. In the end she was told that her application had been rejected as she earned AUD2,000 too little in the previous year. This was after 24 weeks and without any contact from them to discuss the situation. The fact that she and her ex-husband shared custody of the 2 children and all expenses she was still classed as having 2 children. Also, they don't count Family Tax Credit as income - not sure what it is if it isn't income - but there you go. However @Sydneypianoteacher you have already gone through the interview stage, so I would have thought they would have told you then if you didn't meet the criteria. Definitely worth chasing Centrelink and if necessary putting in a complaint.
