  1. Maybe he managed to do everything on line but I know our daughhter said she had to actually go in to prove her identity. It would definitely be worth checking.
  2. Well, our daughter has now re-submitted the AoS paperwork on line. All receipted and she just has to go in to the office and confirm her ID. Estimated completion date on the confirmation is 27th August, but I'll believe it when I see it. Just hope it doesn't take them another 24 weeks to make a decision!
  3. It would be nice to think they would but we don't hold out much hope.
  4. Definitely is within the validity of the Medicals and Police checks. Our daughter has, at long last, received notification, dated 21 June, that her AoS application was rejected (last year's income fell just AUD2,000 below the requirement) - over 24 weeks after she applied. She is going to re-submit asap after 1st July so she will be in another tax year and will meet the income requirement. I understand that the AoS approval can now take up to 18 weeks to be sorted so we are looking at November before that gets approved. Our medicals expire on 10 Jan 19 - not a lot of time to get everything organised, especially with Christmas looming. Could be a frantic and expensive trip to organise in December! Unless a miracle happens and things move more quickly.
  5. Automatic acknowledgement of receipt of emails is fine - but, in our experience, they aren't followed up by a "proper" reply. Lack of communication is so frustrating.
  6. So, as we have now to resubmit our AoS application after 1st July it looks like we won't have that approved until the end of November. That'll mean we will probably have to re-do our police checks and medicals. More expense - but more time time to save up for it!
  7. Go to this lionk https://www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/services/centrelink/assurance-support where there is a calculator.
  8. I hope so. It may all be part of a big plan by higher authority!! Let's hope things start to get back on track and start to come together now!
  9. Wow, that was effective. Our open day was a complete flop - due in no small part to the Estate Agent messing things up about the advertised date. We had one viewing and nothing from that. Still with the delay in our visa process we aren't too worried about it at the moment!
  10. Thanks to you all for your words of support. I must admit we are spitting blood at the minute! As long as they don't change the rules again she will be fine after 1 July as her income is comfortably above the requirement, AUD49,824.84 as at today. I know the requirement will increase some but she has a reasonable leeway at the moment which will continue into next year. Fortunately the rules as well say that she must be earning that in the current year and one of the 2 preceding years, so again we are OK. Even if we weren't we have another willing assurer who has been standing by the whole time. Had we known earlier we could have had it sorted it ages ago. Their response to our suggestion that we add another assurer at this stage was that it was too complicated! Hey ho - these things are sent to try us - and my goodness they do!? We'll certainly keep in touch with her MP who has at least got things moving, especially if things take a long time again.
  11. UNBELIEVABLE!!! After 23 weeks since submitting AoS paperwork and getting nowhere, continually being told that everything was on the system and that we just needed to wait for it to be processed our daughter contacted her MP. Within a couple of days she has at last had contact from AoS, but not the news that we had hoped for! Her application had been rejected as she was AUD2K short on the previous tax year. She asked if she could get another assurer but was told that was not possible and that it was a straightforward rejection and that basically the case was closed!!! I’m sure I’ve read of at least 2 other people on this forum who have been asked to get a second assurer? Makes no difference that although she has two children she shares responsibility with their father (they live with him half the time and they share all expenses) she is still is classed as having 2 children. If this was not the case then her income would have been OK. She has been advised to resubmit her application after 30 Jun – just 2 weeks away. What a nightmare. Although, crazy though it may seem, at least we now have an answer we know where we stand - just not where we wanted to be. Hopefully once we re-submit it won’t take them the same amount of time before they make a decision. I have to admit, the air was a little blue when we heard. 23 weeks 3 days to tell us NO!!!!!!!
  12. Thank you. We're still working n trying to get that interview, hopefully it will happen soon. To hear that people are getting some good news is so good after such a long wait. It really lifts the spirits.
  13. If you click on your name (top right of screen) go into your account settings and then into signature (on left hand side of screen) you can put all the detail in there.
  14. Could you put your timeline on your signature so that we can see your progress please?
  15. I agree, but also it has been invaluable to see other people's progress and gain information on how to approach different stages of the application process. A happy balance of information for the future and present is most welcome.
  16. The problem is trying to get the time off work to either go in or telephone. I think we'll get her to give it one more go before we contact the MP.
  17. She is in QLD, Moffat Beach and submitted the paperwork to Caloundra Centrelink. We have the name of her MP - Andrew Wallace - and are ready to get something in writing to him. Knowing our luck we will probably still get the same response - you just have to wait! It is so very frustrating.
  18. No! Our sponsor, our daughter, hasn't even been contacted for an interview. She has called a few times and as you say has had to wait up to 2 hours but all they say is that everything is on the system and we just have to wait. How long is the big question!!!!!
