  1. Hi Annie, I am NMC registered & currently in SA. Happy to help if you would like to PM me.
  2. Thank you Tracy for the update, we self submitted our visa application. Sorry to hear the route you have taken is proving to be a frustrating one. If we had a clearer understanding of options we quite possibly would have taken a different path - probably littered with its own frustrations! Hopefully you will be sorted soon, along with the rest of us:wink:
  3. Congrats on CO allocation, this maybe a bit small but came in the FAQ section, Why have my non-migrating children been requested to undertake health assessments? Health requirements stipulate that all members of the family unit are required to meet the health requirement including dependant family members who do not intend to migrate. This includes all children under the age of 18 years, regardless of whether they live with the principle visa applicant and whether they intend to migrate. A member of the family unit includes but is not limited to any dependent children of the primary applicant – that is, any children under the age of 18, regardless of the custody or access arrangements in place. This includes family members who are non-migrating dependants (NMDs). NMDs for permanent visas are also required to meet the health requirement before the main permanent visa applicant can be granted a visa. When one family member fails the health requirement, the entire family will be refused visas as a consequence. There is no discretion available to the decision maker, unless waiver provisions exist. This policy means the Department is aware ‘up-front’ of the health status of family members who have the potential to migrate. It also avoids the situation where applicants later decide they want to re-unite with NMDs and are not able to do so due to the NMD’s health concerns. The policy is also designed to prevent visa applicants from failing to declare dependants on their application because they are aware that their dependant(s) have a health condition that would prevent grant of the visa for all family members.
  4. Congratulations to you & others that have recently passed the post. Good news for all, maybe a few more today seeing it's Friday:wink:
  5. We have been assigned a CO this week - so maybe they are being released from those at the front of the queue... just a thought nollie. I know, no rhyme or reason to how this works other than recommended processing times, still states 10-14mths. The gains we make from this thread like information and support can be tainted by seeing other grants progress - great for sure 'cause at some point it will be our turn & then on to the next challenge! This bit is pants & thats before get to oz:wink:. I would like to do a nudge, we front loaded our application, there is a discrepancy that I need to clarify with CO - I used the automated form with drop boxes to try to make contact - is this right the https://www.border.gov.au/about/corporate/information/forms/online/australian-immigration-enquiry-form-for-europe-english I am not convinced I am in the right place, it says contact Europe service centre. They haven't made it very idiot proof. The onus is very much on you to do the work. If this form isn't right - the right email link would be appreciated. Knowing my luck I've probably sent my medical query to Tim Peake on the international Space Station - good job it's not about my personables:laugh:
  6. Fantastic news for those with grant notices. But where's nollie's, We WANT nollie's, for nollie''s sake!
  7. Can I ask of those that have been allocated CO's does your status change on immi? - as in does it change to application in process? We also remain CO'less... (Unloved and destitute... I understand people go through this without contact from CO if no further information is required for application). On immi it still says 'application received' - does that mean it's still pondering its future and the application is still yet to be touched? Has anybody's acct changed status and not been contacted by a CO? On a purely selfish level can those with a CO hurry up and get your grants sorted:wink: so those without can feel the love :biglaugh:. May we have a few more grants please.
  8. I had a quick look at last years posts around this time, there appears to be a flurry of grants leading up to and following their christmas break. Hopefully all you lot who got 'the email' will get blessed relief come the new year. & for those near the end of the queue may get a CO or two...:xmas29:
  9. Wishing festive merriments to one and all who are up and down this very bizarre rollercoaster of a queue. May there be sprinkles (lets ask for a big dump!) of visa grants and CO'S to found under the chrissie tree :xmas16:. Our page looks like that too.
  10. Hi, Has anybody got any insights into whether or not your visa only starts being processed once a CO has been assigned? Can your visa status change without your CO contacting you i.e. if you have a complete submission and no need for further documents to be requested. I understand it is not necessarily a bad thing if your CO has not been in touch & each application is processed on an individual basis but insights from people further down this queue would be appreciated - I presume we are just looking for status change on immi?... and at the end you just get an email out of the blue? Has anybody been allocated a CO who submitted after July 2015? - Thanks in advance
  11. tracy8099, Thank you. I was wondering how the list/queue was panning out. This is like waiting for something after you've handed over the dosh and it suddenly goes dark, it's pitch black, they've switched the lights off & I'm not quite sure how it all works. If it wasn't for this forum I'd be panicking that I'd sent the money accidentally to the milkman and not the consulate. We have got an 'application received' & I am sure the little munchkins are beavering their way through the applications, as I note a '7 mth processing time' *not eager*. We submitted 309/100 15/10/15, not allocated a CO as yet. Safe and happy travels to those that have got to the green light. Fab.
  12. Thanks all for your thoughts. The kids are on the 309 application, I have PR. This thread has come into its own as your options aren't given to you on a plate. I took it for granted that 309 would be straight forward and less hassle due to our experience last time. Interesting that there is other visa's that people can access to achieve the same (sort of). At least we are in the queue now & it costs a lot of money to be in the queue. If I had found this thread 3 wks ago, we would be going through an 'onshore' application. & yes we are heading for SA, can't afford Sydney! - that's equivalent to moving to London, crazy prices.
  13. A quickie, I am sure this has been broached, there is no way to swap to a 'onshore application' once the process has commenced - even though they seem interchangeable? thanks in advance
  14. Thanks Snifter, On hindsight, I agree. We have been blindsided by the processing time. We were granted the 100visa (paper application) 8 years ago 3wks (processing time was said to be 6mths) after submitting and didn't go because we couldn't sell the house in time to validate, it was less than £2000. P1 of this thread talks about processing taking 12 wks (back in2009). Selling has also taken a long time this time and then to find out the cost has trebled (we have more kids this time) & that its potentially another 10-14 mths... The process has obviously become more complicated and protracted over time. Luck favours the prepared, I should've done more homework. This however may work in our favour! http://www.pomsinadelaide.com/forum/migration-issues/47052-fall-immigration-australia.html
  15. Hello all, seeking advice/ideas? I am new to all this (not sure if posting the right way/place) and shocked at the cost and processing times?! & its hard to piece info together. We have just submitted what we think is a complete application for 309/100 visa. I have found and read the previous posts trying to figure out what to do as we have sold our house first this time (we have done this before and didn't sell in time) and although we can rent & wait, I was wondering if there was another way to do this as the processing adds another unexpected year, as with many I am quite sad about this. People have referred to the 457 visa and is it fair to say that my partner can apply for a 457 visa if we find a sponsor and can enter and work on this visa, whilst waiting for the 309/100 to be granted? We are early on in the process and have children who need to be in school so tourist visa not an option at this point? There was a previous post that suggested it was possible to enter on a tourist visa and apply for 457 from within - does this not cross the boundaries of being true to the intentions of the visa? if possible we will try to arrange a 457 before departure. Thanks in advance.
