  1. We are about to have all our worldly possessions shipped over to Perth [emoji51] and for some reason have LOADS of vacuum pack bags. We have had mixed messages about whether to use them or not. One removal company said yes the other said no- you could get mould due to items sweating inside the plastic. What did anyone else do? Anyone had experience or advice about this? Just thinking it could save us money with the space!! TIA [emoji846]

    UK plug removal??

Hi, has anyone been advised to remove all UK plugs from their electrical goods before they pack them up? That’s what John Mason advise before shipping. I was just going to get them re-plugged (is that even the term?!) once we arrive, so that we can use things and get them converted at our own pace. Anyone had any experience with this? TIA [emoji846]
  4. Hi! I had to get my letter redrafted by my university about 3 times as AITSL kept requiring more information. One thing they asked for, but never mentioned in their original information was for a breakdown year by year of how many days I completed and with what age range. I am not sure about the age range difference that you stated. You can always email them to check. But our school ages are different so surely they come across this with a lot of people who have graduated from British Unis.

Certification of documents by Aus in UK!

Unfortunately this isn’t possible for teaching. Already tried to use a Uk equivalent and it was rejected Thanks though.
  6. Hi all, This is a very specific ask and I am not sure if I have put it in the right forum, but here goes. I have my 189 visa and I am moving to Perth. I am a teacher. To teach in WA I need to apply to the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA). I have done that from the UK. But. And this is the big but where I am drawing blanks- I need an Australian citizen to certify my documents who is registered to work in their profession in Aus from the list of occupations on this document: I live in the NE of the UK. If I go to the embassy in London they charge £41 per document!!! I need about 10 docs certifying! Which is unaffordable and unrealistic. I can’t wait until I am in Aus as there is a time limit, and I will not be there within the time limit. So I am reaching out to the community to see if anyone has contacts with an Australian citizen living in the UK who can certify some documents for me!! ??? Any info or help would be greatly appreciated! Anyone been through this? What did you do? TIA ??

Average Agent Fees for 189 visa

Hi, I know this is a very broad question, but I am curious to know if a price I have been quoted from an agent is the normal-ish ball park for fees for a 189 visa. I have been quoted $4200 + GST with the 189 visa charge and additional applicant charge on top of this. Is this about right? Thanks for any advice and replies.

Which visa to go for 189 or 190??

Hi Mark, I appreciate your quick and detailed reply. I am looking into the 189 visa more now and the more I look the more confusing it gets! Do I need to do SkillsSelect if going for a 189 visa? Or do I go straight to AITSL to do my application for assessment?

Which visa to go for 189 or 190??

Hi all, Myself and my husband are looking to migrate and initially the idea seemed quite simple; I am an early years teacher, my job was on the SOL for Adelaide (where we would like to settle ideally), fine we can apply for the skilled nominated permanent 190 visa. Since the new SOL has been released my occupation is only on the supplement list, which means I need 80 points, which is unachievable. But my husbands job is on the SOL, he is a sales and marketing manager which has 'high availablity.' But we are not 100% sure he meets ALL the requirements. He has a University degree and 8 years experience within events and marketing. We have been in contact with an agent and he now recommends we go down the General Skilled Migration 189 visa route, with myself still as the lead. But we are just very confused, which Visa is more likely to actually succeed? How do we know we are doing what is right? Help, please!

    Using a migration agent?

Hi, myself and my husband are new to this forum, so apolgies if this is already a thread that has been discussed. We having been looking into getting a subclass 190 visa but doing it all ourselves through the embassy but do not know if this is a sensible idea. Or if it is safer, easier or more reliable to use a good agent.Any advice would be very much appreciated!
