  1. Car industry not doing so bad but the latest new is 40+ car had their co2 emissions tested and they all failed. So looks like the manufacturers have been fiddling the figures to make the cars look environmentally better. From what I've read even though Perth have had a slump in their employment figures overall they are still doing better than the UK.
  2. I would say the UK is definitely not booming. Bhs was only bought out 12/18 months ago and now looks likes its headed to go into administration, that and TATA steel still haven't found a buyer! There could be a number of job losses in the pipeline.
  3. I think it's purely dependent on where you are living in the UK. We are in the North Yorkshire and we both have fairly good jobs, yet utilities our going up including council tax, nursery fees are going up, the value of our house is barely moving we have been in negative equity for 7 years, unemployment is 6% and I have now not it had a pay rise for 4 years. My oh had a 1% pay rise last year. Currently unemployment in the north east is 8% and To give you a comparison unemployment in Kent is currently 1.6%
  4. I too submitted both my aphra and anmac within a few days of each other. Please see my timeline below. From the start of doing my ielts to visa being granted it was 4 days shy of 6 months. i sent off my aphra at the end of November 27th I think and anmac 4th December.
  5. Aww she is beautiful. Congratulations x
  6. My transcript stated it was taught for 3 years in English. So it was good enough. I didn't have to get the uni to send anything further.
  7. @lukescotty that is correct. We uploaded the police checks and medicals within a few days of submitting the application. We weren't assigned anyone that we knew of and they just automatically sent through the visa grants.
  8. From what I've been told the government has over spent on all services across wa. The economy has taken a nose dive mainly due to the mining and therefore the government are no longer bringing in the revenue they were. the quickest way to recup the monies over spent is austerity measures by focusing on the public sector, ie job freezes etc. like I say this is what I've been told but may be inaccurate??
  9. Visa 189 applied for 10th March 2016 - visa granted 4th April 2016. 26 days! Yay!
  10. Yes this year - 10th March 2016 submitted via application. Visa granted 4th April 2016! Visa 189!
  11. Yes we are headed to Perth! Yes it's been very fast. I'm still a little shellshocked! I did it all completely independently. I couldn't justify the agent fees when I know I've got two brain cells in my head! And as it turned out I didn't need them. Our case is very straight forward though... We got our visas granted in 26 days from the visa application being submitted. Very fast. Good luck
  12. What @Becks22 said. To gain your registration you have to be degree trained.
  13. Mine took 26 days from submitting the application to visa being granted. Submitted on the 10th March - visa granted 4th April.
  14. There is currently a job freeze for public workers including nurses currently in Perth. So they are not recruiting because of the mining has crashed the market. This freeze should be being lifted at the end of June hopefully. I have just been granted my 189 visa and we fly on the 3rd July. I have provisionally got a job working in the private sector as a community chemo nurse. Very nerve wracking at the min! Yes you need your ielts, skills assessment through ANMAC, and APHRA application before anything else. Message away way if you need any help. My time line is below to give you a rough idea. From completing the elts to visa being granted it was 4 days short of 6 months xxx
  15. We have just got our visas granted on Monday from visa application to grant - 26 days! We did it all ourselves no agent. From first completing my ielts test to visa grant it took 8 months. I dont know what your skill is but I had to complete an English test prior to submitting my skills assessment. Im a nurse and main applicant. If I can I'll try and answer any questions but I'm not an expert. Good luck. Sam x
  16. I know! 26 days! I'm still in shock! Fingers crossed for your to be granted quickly!
  17. We submitted our visas applications on the 10th March and I've received a letter this morning informing me that our visas have been GRANTED!!!! Super excited! Now to start planning the move!! Fingers crossed for July!!

  19. Congratulations- is it just you or are you taking a family too??
  20. @Kezza37 when did you submit your application??
  21. My medical is booked for Tuesday. Mine is costing £350 for the healthcare medical. We are a family of 4 and the total cost is £815. We got 10% off the second adult.
  22. My oh is a qualified paramedic, a job he has done for the last 19 years so has no experienced in anything else or qualification. We are coming over as me being the main applicant as a nurse. I'm just wondering how easy will he find a job - any job?? The ambulance service are currently not recruiting and I think he wants to do something different. Any advise? Sam
