  1. Congratulations indeed everyone who got their grants! @michaelwowzer and @george89 who was your CO?
  2. Its all been a bit quiet this week... I hope there is a flurry of grants next week!
  3. immigration can extend your medical for 6 months as well so i wouldnt worry! I too did mine before i applied, for a different application, and this is what i was told by them
  4. I cant believe that you got a grant on NYE how amazing is that!!!! eeeeek!!!! Happy for you! Happy January everyone, this year is gonna be a big one for us all
  5. Lets hope they play catch up in the new year too! Im all for them having 10 days off and then straight back into the grants would be great
  6. FYI the London office is closed now.... Our office is currently closed for the Christmas and New Year holidays and will re-open on 29 & 30 December 2015 between 0900hrs - 1600hrs London time. Normal operations will resume on Monday 04 January 2016.
  7. Yea I dont think it means anything unless your case officer has asked for something from you! I did my medicals about a week after applying and same with my police clearances. The Department can extend your Medicals for 6 months, so I figured I would get in there early and get them done! it makes no difference though, Jen44 and are moving along at the same pace
  8. I too got the automated email... they are absolutely useless at writing emails, I can see why everyone is panicking! I have done my medicals and Police clearances and even i was like hmmmmm do i need to provide them with anything? I hope its a sign of lots of grants in the new year though hey
  9. This 6 months seems to have gone quickly... wait, sorry if it hasn't for you! heres hoping that we will get a nice and early grant like some of the lucky people on here! have a great Christmas and New years
  10. I wont be online tomorrow so.... Happy 6 Month anniversary since applying @Jen44
  11. Hey, Congratulations!!!!! What does this mean?..... Just got to finalise the C100 removal from jurisdiction on the 23rd December
  12. Yea i can only imagine you are itching to get yours now! how rude of these people queue jumping!!!
  13. It seems the grants are coming in a bit more now, keep it coming immigration!!!
  14. Oh wow! that really is a fast grant, 6 months and 11 days! Eeeeeek! doesn't this just get us all excited ha ha! Congratulations to you both on the grants! what a great Christmas present!
  15. AusCitizen im soooo sorry to hear the troubles you are having! It must be soooo hard being apart. I think you just go for it and submit your financial docs and see if they allow it! there isnt much more you can do hey... could you take on a part time job to make your financial situation seem a bit better? im not sure you would have enough time to do that now but just a thought
  16. @bobby122, @unclejames and @Gazbad - I too am onshore and coming up for 6 months in waiting (only a couple of months now perhaps) can I just ask, how much time did you all get to 'depart for grant'? and do you have to book a flight within 28 days? This info will be really helpful for me and my overactive planning brain! Thanks in advance!
  17. Yea my offshore visa will still stand if MRT affirms the Departments decison. MRT and the Department have confirmed that they are completely seperate processes and each has no bearing on the other one. So I can get the Offshore one, then if the MRT comes through in my favour, great ( i will be eligible for permanent residency) if not i have the offshore visa anyways... sorta win win... although very stressful and expensive! but it was a better option than if i had to leave oz to wait for my offshore visa should I only have applied if MRT was unsuccessful.
  18. I have it in writing from them, there isn’t much more I can do, I cant afford to engage another migration agent! Oh and I already know too well that they fck things up, I have already complained to the Commonwealth Ombudsman about the Department and have a compensation claim being processed for defective administration. The question isn’t all that complex anyways, would a new visa granted by the Department supersede the old one. Its quite a common thing really.
  19. I did thee forbidden and asked the Department! They confirmed that im good to go with the plan above
  20. Well i find myself in a sticky spot.... My Onshore visa was declined earlier this year and I am currently waiting for a hearing date with the Migration review tribunal. In addition, I applied for an offshore visa in June this year as my plan B. I was hoping MRT hearing would be first and then if that didnt work in my favour the clock had already started ticking on my offshore one. After talking with the MRT it looks like I am 6 months away from getting a hearing and the Offshore visa will come through first. The aim of my game is obviosuly permanent residency, If I am successful at MRT then I would have completed the 2 years temporary residency and would go straight to the 801. So I wonder... can I activate the 309 visa, when my turn comes up in approximately March and then still go to MRT? If I am approved for the 801 visa after the 309 will the 801 overide it? Any thoughts?
  21. Can. I ask where u are located? I'm in Perth so perhaps that's why mine is soooo far from getting a hearing date!?!?
