  1. I've never had a 4 wheel drive suitcase!!! Haha I'm excited to wheel it around[emoji87][emoji87][emoji87]
  2. I need enough time to take it back if it's not for me!! My suitcase had broke inbetween the lining at the back and the lining at the front devastated!! Didn't really want to fork out another £50 butttttt I've got a swanky suitcase so all is good!!
  3. Right I've just ordered the black one!! I wanted enough time to return it if I didn't like it. Ordered it from the Tripp website, absolute bargain[emoji383][emoji383] x
  4. Kayleigh I'm glad you mentioned Tripp for suitcases!!! But I'm glad it's also reduced hahah, who pays that much to home clothes[emoji16]
  5. Right- I've found this-- It's reduced from £140. But I doubt I'll be going on a plane much for it to get cracked and it's for 5 year gar. On it as well? what do you think x
  6. What do people think to this? Will 68L be big enough? It's reduced from £60 so it'll be a bargain. I'm just worried about the hard shell, I've had one before and it cracked so I'm unsure really.
  7. Well!! I've just been on holiday for a week then Thailand for a month so I've got loads of holiday clothes, so I'll bring like the usual stuff - day tops, nicer tops for night if going for a meal or whatever, then 2 pairs of jeans (black and blue) beach stuff, towel/bikini etc, shoes has been a big thing cos I have SO many! I've got a pair of toms, 1 pair of converse, 2 pairs of flip flops and then like 2 pairs of strappy type shoes throughout the day!! I've got a pair of Nike trainers that I'll use for farm work and when I go on tours, I don't mind them getting trashed!! I bet I end up ditching the majority of my stuff around my year/two years as I'm always buying new clothes!! I'm bringing a pair of leggings. Bag wise I'm taking tote bag, small day bag and a cross body bag. I'm surprised I'll even fill 30kg! Eeeeek
  8. Hey!! I go in 18 days (not that I'm counting lol). Open a bank account before you arrive, commonwealth are meant to be really good!! They have loads of cash points- more than NAB anyway. Takes a few mins via their website. Tax file number - equivalent to NI number here, Medicare (very basic cover) and sim you can sort out when you land!! Check your phone will work abroad - majority do anyway!! maybe you need to sort out your phone contract here (if you have one) and see what they can do for you if you need to end it or whatever! Think about travel insurance, Alpha quoted me £115 for the year!! Other than that, decide if you are taking a suitcase or backpack and get saving! If you aren't staying with your brother for a while until you get sorted, perhaps look at accommodation for a few weeks until you are starting the job! I booked mine through booking.com and you can reserve and pay when you arrive! I can't think of much else I'm just going off what I've got to do haha!! Hope you are ok- I've just gone through a breakup myself! It gets better and going to Oz is the best decision ever for me. Alix
  9. Stacey just get a cheap suitcase from Argos! It'll get mucky with being on floors of hostels anyway. They do some good ones!! I do love that Tripp suitcase though and it's only £60!! In loveeeee cos it's pink hahaha
  10. Yes haha!! My name is Alexandra
  11. For my flight I've got a small backpack cos it fits everything in, go pro/makeup etc, then for my passport and tickets I've got an cross over bag!!! Not sure when to start packing I'm so excited!! It's come around so fast I booked it in December x
  12. Well update!! I've been speaking to two girls and they're flying down from London and arriving 2 hours before me. They've booked on the same hostel and are in the same 4 bed dorm as me. I'm so glad, I was nervous about going but now I'm like right whatever kind of thing I just can't wait to arrive. I had a backpack when I went travelling around Thailand for a month and I hated it, i can't carry much on my back cos I get a bad back quite easily, and all my clothes were creased!! To be honest it's not like I'm going to be travelling around a lot were a backpack will be better for me. From the airport I'm getting the train anyway and then after that I'll only be wheeling it to and from a bus or plane to wherever my next stop is haha!! But I ended up carrying my backpack with my hand the majority of the time in Thailand cos my back was sore. Makes sense for me to take a suitcase!! I'm only staying in Sydney for 8 nights then in that time getting a job lined up for farm work :-) Im taking my tote bag and it's got a zip on it, I don't do bumbags they are ugly haha!! But I've got a small backpack for the flight anyway as its the only one I could find that fits my hair straighteners in it!! Even if I find my suitcase is getting annoying or whatever then I'll just ditch it and buy a backpack, it's an old suitcase anyway!!
  13. It's all I've ever wanted to do and I'm like AHHHHH can't believe it hahah
  14. Yeah can you? Thankyou I've decided I'm going to get travel insurance once I've got my first wage! I'm covered for 35 days on my annual so it's not a big worry! I'm so excited it feels so surreal!!!
  15. Eeeeeekkk I am so excited to come! Starting to feel so real. Apart from the main things I need to bring has anyone got anything else that could be worth bringing with me??
  16. Yeah he decided in the end after 3 years together he didn't want to go, he has a big family and didn't want to leave. It was always my dream to go not his!! I'm meeting some friends when I arrive but flying alone- I'm flying with Emirates! Won't go with anyone else for long haul especially with the distance but I paid around £650 for a one way, I could have paid less but there was more stops involved and the flight duration was mega so it worked out well really! Yeah they are expensive but cheaper in the long run if you are doing months on the road because the price of hostels add up. I've always wanted to get a campervan as well haha!!
  17. I'm going in 3 weeks! I've got 8 days in Sydney and in that time I need to find a job. When I was originally going with my boyfriend we booked in Siesta Inn but it's so expensive for a double room- even more so around the time you want to go as its peak. If possible try and come in Swptember when it's in between!! I'm taking between $4500 but I plan to put most of that in my Oz bank account and use that for Bali at Christmas and New year and for the East Coast/Buy a camper after new year. It depends what you want to do, how much you want to spend on tours, whether you want to stay in hostels or hotels etc etc. There is no right or wrong answer and no one can tell you the correct amount as only you know how much you spend!!
  18. I have a really bad back in general so mine was useless all round??
  19. I took a backpack to Thailand, and my back gets sore really easily so I ended up carrying it rucksack in my hand! So I should have took a suitcase really!
  20. Don't do it!!! I've had one they're crap. You won't be taking it miles let's face it x
  21. I wouldn't worry about printing out your CV but have it on your email ready to send/print if needs be! Take copies of your passport, I can't of anything else other than what you have mentioned really. Obviously print out your accommodation booking and then when you check in your flights print your boarding passes. When u arrive it's a case of tfn/confirming bank account/phone or sim/medicare.. I go in a month and I can't wait to go, a month today?? x
