  1. Fingers crossed anyway, you never know! At least all is not lost and even if it isn't granted by then you can go on a visitor visa.
  2. Might be a bit optimistic!! My CO told me to expect mine granted in December and I applied 2 months before you.
  3. I have OH too - he seems to be the only CO that likes to communicate by phone!
  4. All my stressing yesterday was for nothing, as my WHV was granted overnight :biglaugh: Now to get back to stressing about the partner visa!
  5. Please can someone put my mind at rest? I applied for offshore partner visa 309 in 27th Dec 2014 which is obviously not granted yet. I applied for eVisitor on 1st March 2015 which was granted 2 days later and I went to australia to visit for 2 weeks. On 4th June I applied for a working holiday visa so I can move to Australia and (hopefully) work whilst waiting for the 309 to be granted. Now it's been 8 days since the WHV application and I've had nothing back. My sister has one and was granted within the hour! My flights are booked for 28th June. If I don't get the WHV by then I can still enter on my eVisitor - as the eVisitor will only be overridden by the WHV when it's granted. Is that right? And if it is granted whilst I was in Australia I would have to leave and re-enter to activate it (just like the 309 when that is granted) Anyway, rambling now. Still have 2 weeks but was worrying a bit.
  6. Hi CameronsDad, is the CO's initials not in the subject of the email? Mine went: Application/visa reference number, CO's initials, my name, then 'sec unclassified' You are told to keep that subject in any correspondences to the london migration email address, presumably so the right person looks at it. That's what I did anyway and my CO emailed me this morning. BTW I applied for my Working Holiday Visa on Thursday and it still hasn't been granted! This is nearly as nerve-wrecking as waiting for the 309.
  7. My flights are booked for 28th June so not long for me to wait now. I applied for my Working Holiday Visa on Thursday and still hasnt been granted which is a little worrying! Maybe takes longer when you have another visa pending.
  8. Could you not just call the Australian High Commision in London and ask for your case officer (Assuming you know their name) I believe from here it is unusual, but I spoke to my case officer over the phone, they are just normal humans doing a job.
  9. This is from the partner visa guidance notes: If you are outside Australia and are unable to get an Australian citizen or Australian permanent residentto complete a statutory declaration in support of your relationship with your partner, you may obtainstatements from people who know you and your sponsor. Such statements are not statutory declarationsunder Australian law. However, in accordance with policy, they should be witnessed or certified accordingto the legal practices of the relevant country. Failing that, they should be witnessed by a personwhose occupation or qualification is comparable to a person included in the prescribed persons list onpages 29–30. This person should sign, date and specify their occupation or qualification at the bottom ofthe statement. So you are right about them not being official stat decs by law, but I'd still get them witnessed!
  10. Yes, they do. They are stil stat decs even if they aren't from an Australian citizen, and can still use form 888.
  11. Wow, 2 visas been granted at around 9 months, @Kennellys is even a bit less than that. Hope this keeps up!
  12. You Will go back to the bottom of the queue and have to wait 12+ months like everyone else. You could always go on a tourist visa to be with your wife or a whv if you're eligble. What was the false information you were provided by an agent?
  13. Think it's if you been together 2 years with a child you Will go straight to 100, fingers crossed for you
  14. Hi cameronsdad, mine said the same but I am definitely only getting the 309!
  15. If your application was updated after your medicals that means the results have been submitted, my immi account doesn't show any Health Detail link anymore either so wouldnt worry too much.
  16. Hope you hear something soon! Anyone applied earlier than July 28th and still waiting?
  17. Anyone know if id be able to use the form 1445 for the above situation? Thanks
  18. Thanks, I think I would move out earlier if it meant getting this job - but my predicament about the 6 months on WHV expiring before my partner visa is granted is worrying me. I found this: http://www.immi.gov.au/forms/Documents/1445.pdf 'Request permission to work with an employerbeyond 6 months on a Working Holiday orWork and Holiday visa' form and it states: Extending the work condition on a Working Holiday orWork and Holiday visaThe Department of Immigration and Border Protection (thedepartment) may give Working Holiday and Work and Holidayvisa holder’s permission to work for an employer beyond6 months where exceptional circumstances exist. Wherepermission is granted, it will generally be for a short period oftime (several days or weeks, not months).Exceptional circumstances must relate to an Australianpermanent resident, citizen or business and must beextraordinary and unforeseeable.Exceptional circumstances might include remaining in yourcurrent job for one of the following reasons: • for a very short time (days or weeks) as you are critical to thecompletion of a specialised project that has unexpectedlygone over time (this generally only relates to highly skilledactivities, such as a lawyer in the middle of a trial or a doctorwho plans to operate on a patient they have been treating); • performing disaster recovery work following a major disastersuch as clean-up, re-building or emergency managementactivities following a major flood; • remaining in your current job while a decision is being madeon an application for a visa which would allow you to continuefull-time work with your employer without leaving Australia, such as an application for a Temporary Business (Long Stay)visa or a Spouse visa.Note: For the department to take this information intoconsideration when assessing your employment extensionrequest, you must have lodged your visa application andmust be recorded in the department’s systems. Exceptional circumstances do not include remaining in yourcurrent job because you: • have the required skills or because of labour shortages; • are required to complete a project in a job that is not highlyskilled eg. retail or administration; • have applied or intend to apply for a visa which requires youto leave Australia at the time of grant eg. Skilled visa subclasses175, 176 and 475; • are not able to apply for another kind of visa. The first bold part kind of implies as I have a lodged spouse visa application I may be eligible but then the last bold part kind of doesn't as it was an offshore application.
  19. Having just returned from Tasmania, I do have a little predicament now. I applied for a job at a school whilst here and they seem keen and have arrange a Skype interview for next week. They know the situation with my visa and how I will be entering on a WHV in preparation for my partner visa 309 being granted at the end of the year. However, they want the applicant to start 11th May (earlier than my intended date to return to oz which was early July) So my problem is I would need the partner visa to be granted before 11th Nov to satisfy the WHV condition of only working for an employer for 6 months - which is 10.5 months after I applied. Given that they are still working to 9 months, I'd say it may be possible but maybe not. I know No one can know for definate but anyone any thoughts? I enjoyed Tas but I will be moving to a small town of 650 people - good jobs in my area of work don't come up often.
