There is no fault with the NHS system. Persoanlly one of the best free services you can get. Once you have the specialists/ Consultants they provide the required treatment. It's just a shame that many people abuse the system which then slows the process down.

Hi, Ask the CO if you can make this change on the application as you were not aware of dependant meant. Also update the EOI and add it on there as once the SS has been granted the invite will be auomatically sent and you won't be able to change this on the EOI. The invite will come directly from DIAC not ACT. But speak to the CO first and see if you can change it in the application. Hope this helps

Permaneet Residency Police Check/Convictions Help Needed!
NeelD replied to djames2012's topic in Visa Chat
Hi djames2012, Maybe wait what the police check comes back with. If its clear then there is nothing for you to stress about. You have made a mistake or few and hopefully have learnt from that. In my opinion if you tell DIAC something which you has no impact on your record, they might go against granting you PR visa...this all depends on who your CO is. If your report comes back clear then leave it our and you don't need to mention it. Also with the amount of people that apply for a visa, DIAC will have no time to go into a database to check on individual records hence they depend on the PCC. Just apply and fingers crossed -
That's great news. Congratulations. Hopefully the rest of August applicants will get their visas granted soon

We got scammed by a company called 'Global Visa'. A family member applied for their visa and they moved out recommending the company to us. We started our application with them and had to make payments whilst we colated all our documents. Got everything done..and they wouldn't respond to most of their clients. Then found out the reason for this was because they closed the company down and opened using a different name. When I called them...they said they can take us back on their file but had to pay half of what we had already paid as we were old clients. Really annoyed me and read into everything and done the application ourselves. We are now waiting for the grant of our visa's. A very straight forward process. Wee Kimmy...if you need advise on doing the application yourself let me know. It's not a difficult process and you will save the initial agency costs if this helps.

Hi, You are a PR from the minute you receive your visa. You need to validate it within a year of your PCC or Meds, which ever done first. Once you come back you have 5 years to then go back and settle. You won't have to inform anyone until you actually live there. Hope this helps

Hi Quoll, It's great to know someone has lived there for so long, so can't be that bad I am currently waiting for my visa grant to come through as i'm in the construction trade. Work as a carpenter and joiner. Where would you say is the best place to live which is booming in this industry yet not too expensive. Planning on bringing our car with us aswell so will wait upon that. Will be coming with wife and 2 year old son.

Hi Sumu, What other docs have they requested? I would have thought that they would have requested everything together...such a long process
-
Hi RedXYC, As nic8764 stated you will need to do the Academic test, also they will only accept experience post your CIMA qualification. If you get the minimal 60 points then great, apply for the visa.

Hi aconcannon, We have applied for 190 SS to Canberra and just awaiting on our visa grant. Heard different views from different people. It all depends what you do in your occupation as most of the work is Government and require citizenship to get most of the work. Unless your in a trade then i'm sure its not as bad. If you don't mind me asking...why are you planning on goign to Canberra when you have a 189 visa which can take you anywhere in Australia?
-
Hi Jack91, Upload the results into SkillSelect with the rest of your documents. Hopefully you have uploaded all the docs so that CO can give you an instant Grant

190 visa - 6 month follow-up survey. Do i tell them i've moved interstate?
NeelD replied to CommanderMaxil's topic in ACT
Hi, I would let them know as you don't want this interfering with your Citizenship later on. -
Correct, you will need to be sponsored by the state. This is not a difficult task. I done the whole process myslef rather than going through an agent. Have you checked how many points you have? You will get additional 5 points for SS
-
Ni Nick, What do you do as a living (workwise), only asking because is the occupation on the SOL list? if so then you will have to consider your work experience, IELTS results, qualifications...when checking how many points you have with 60 being the minimum. As you have family in Australia already (including half brothers/sisters) they may be able to sponsor you as long as you can provide sufficient documents to prove this (5 additional points) keeping in mind that this can be a very long process. Hope this helps
-
Hi Marysrn, Yes you will only be able to apply for a visa if your occupation is on the list. Have you checked if any of the States have your occupation on their list, as 190 visa is a State Sponsorship visa. By any chance are you a Physicist (Medical Physicist only)? as this is on the SOL list http://www.immi.gov.au/Work/Pages/skilled-occupations-lists/sol.aspx Hope this helps

Thanks ABL275 This really helps. I guess we will have to get a short term rental and then drive around and see which area best suits us. Many people on the forum have actually suggested Gunghalin. So might have to check that out. Nothing can compare travelling like Londonas can take over an hour and more if we are stuck in traffic.

Hi Sarvan01, No we didn't apply for NT after as with 489 there are restrictions on the medicals. Are you able to apply for 190 in a different state? We applied for ACT and got the SS from there. Just waiting for the grant now. If you need assistance with the documents let me know as I applied for the application myself.
-
Hi Pasteypoms, City & Guilds are a recognised body. The best way to verify your cert is to have it assessed by the assessing body. That way you will also gain the Australian cert.
-
Hi Sarvan01, I previously looked at NT for SS under 190 and found that the state hardly approve a visa under 190 if you don't have family/ friends in NT. They generally put you through on the 489 visa which is pemp for 4 years. Having read your thread above, it might be adviseable to re-check your statement and also providing job roles which relate to your occupation. Such a shame it got rejected, good luck and hopefully iy gets approved when you submit again

Hi JerryandPaul, I know what you mean as I am glued to this forum  As you have now done your medicals before the CO has been assigned to you...how did you get the HAP ID? Thanks
-
Hi Shazia, When you moved to Australai with your 2 year old, did you he/she have to undertake the medical checks? My son will be 2 in Jan and i'm not sure if he will require the medicals so we are currently waiting for a CO before we do them. Thanks
-
Hi Jerry and Paul, Have you completed your medicals and PCC's yet? Not sure if we will have to do one for our 2 year old son, so awaiting for CO to be assigned to us
-
Hi All, Does anyone know if you have to do meds for chilren under 18? My son is only 20 months. On the form it states for only those over 18 years of age but some forums state they have done for their young kids aswell. Thanks
