Hi 189 is a better visa if you have the full required points and your occupation is on the SOL. It also depends on the quota - how many invites they are giving out to that specific occupation. You can move to any state once you have been granted your visa. If you are short of points then SS will give you 5 points extra (minimum requirement is 60 points including 5 points awarded by state) but you have to commit to living in the state for a minimum of two years. Also depending on which state you are applying for you have to provide further documentation on details they require i.e. Declaration of your state, funds which you will be talking with you, research of jobs available in the state which relates to your occupation. Hi Danielaung, Once you have recieved an invited, you can't change it. The only way to change it is if you decline the first invite and then submit a new EOI and wait for a new one. Both your EOI and DIBP should match.

Hi Jlew, Keep in mind that the visa fees have gone up as of 1st July. We paid $6400 for myself (Main applicant), wife and son (20 months old). Also depends on the visa you are applying for. Melza, My deepest Condolences to you. I know how it feels losing someone so close. I lost my mum in 2012. She was only 54 years old and was just sudden. My siblings and I had to travel to India from London for the funeral and after death ceremony. Hardest thing I have ever done. No matter what, the memories you have will never fade. Hi, We are currently waiting for our 190 visas to be granted. Deadline for submitting documents is 17th October and everything has now been uploaded. Wife and son will be joining me on this new adventure. I'm a Carpenter and Joiner by trade and wondering where the best place would be for renting a home...don't want anything too expensive. Hi, My wife planned on having a Water Birth. She actually used it and had it in her birth plan. She found it very relaxing but our son decided he was way too relaxed and didn't want to come out. As her waters broker at 3am the day before it was too risky to long out the process. So it was either she have an epidural which she was against or have a c-sec which she said was a NO-NO unless there was complications. Had an epidural and our son was born healthy. Whatever you decide is down to an individual. Birth plans will and can change and this will be out of your hands. Just be open about it. As my wife had an epidural she used a heat mat after our son was born so that in future she wouldn't have problems with her back. So far so good. Just need to take care. All the best and its the best feeling once the baby arrives. Be open and think of the final outcome

My occupation is Carpenter and Joiner. I've had a look at other States and nothing seems to appear on them for that trade. I might have to sit the IELTS and aim to get 7+ in each section. Sat it last time and barely got a 5 in all
