  1. yeah sorry, using the mobile app, still getting used to it haha, I take it you haven't had any correspondence from Immi? or is it an online submission?
  2. Congratulations on the quick visa!! Thats awesome, hopefully it'll be quicker for everyone from now on? "Wishful thinking" I submitted my visa on the 6th November so maybe good news on the horizon?
  3. Is foxtel the same service all across OZ? Or do channels differ in different states? Also do the sports channels show UK football english/scottish league, Uefa Cup and champions League football? And is there a dedicated formula 1 channel?
  4. Hey @Sandyp im sure the immi.gov.au have a period of "rest" basically at OZ financial year end were they dont process any visa grants for a monthish? Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
  5. Thanks @MovingtoTasmania It doesn't matter really to us as we do not plan to move until November, save as many pennies as possible you see. Would just be a nice feeling to have it granted...
  6. I noticed on the main Immi.gov.au state processing times are 6months (low risk) for subclass 100 but on Australia house its 8-9 months. I wonder if immi.gov.au is the updated timescales after the july break?
  7. Just wait until your have been allocated at CO, he/she will advise you when to do the medical/police checks. Unfortunately its a long 8/9months a bit frustrating but my advise is just sit back and wait to be contacted. Dont stress by constantly logging in or checking emails.
  8. How long after you leave OZ as PR can you apply for a RRV?
  9. Your visa waiting game starts from the "Lodged date received" at Australia House, so even if you don't have a CO assigned maybe 7-8 weeks later you are still about 2months down the line in the process, so dont worry to much about CO assigned, It takes 8-9 months due to the volume of Partner applications, I applied for mine in November and 7months later still waiting. Doing the police checks/medicals before asked has NO benefit to timescales on the processing. Currently alot of visas seem to be granted around the 8months mark.
  10. Your CO will ask in the letter or email what countries he needs to provide a police check for, There is a question in the form to list all places visited in the last so many years also if he has lived in any countries over 12months. I'm sure thats what triggers the police checks
  11. As said before the decision is entirely up to you. My advice would be, get off this forum, get out with the wife for a nice meal so you have complete 1 on 1 attention and time to talk. And tell her what you want to do with your life and approach the idea of moving away for the 12 months to obtain the citizenship for the better of both your futures. Obviously you are going to reiterate that she is your life but you feel this is an opportunity to good to let slip away? And when you gain your citizenship it in away gives you both free passage to OZ (obvs with ur wife obtaining PR Visa 100) If it was me in this position (I have 3 kids) I would do the 12 months as hard as it would be to leave my family it opens massive doors for my children. As it'll open doors for maybe your potential children through citizenship of decent.
  12. Excellent, seems the times are a little bit quicker. Congratulations! Better get those suitcases packed! You are going to Australia!
  13. Congratulations. Its been a long 7months for me! Im sure you are over the moon now!
  14. You are stuck between a Rock and a hard place. I'll concentrate on the part you mention about settling down. I agree that having close family around is a god send on occasions, but think a little in the future when your future child is older, say 3+ and you are stuck in doors due to bad weather or spending money in softplay centres. Me and my wife are moving to Perth for this very reason. My wife is originally from Perth but her father stays in the uk and mother and sister stay in Perth. I think it'll be a very good possibility that you'll be sitting in the uk thinking about going back to Perth for your childs sake. The UK is in recovery in terms of future prospects and has a long way to go before we all have it back to the good times we all used to enjoy. And Perth is still a young city with massive growth expectations, it sounds like you have made a very good start in Perth and my opinion would be to stay put and try family life there 1st, then if you feel under pressure then make a move back to the UK?
  15. My experience is that your CO will advise you on when to organise them, There is no harm in doing your medical/police check now, but you need to validate your visa within 12months of health and police check, If you dont they can ask you to carry them out again, obviously it puts your overall cost up.
  16. How long do you have to wait before you can apply for citizenship when you have a PR 100?
  17. I've not contacted my CO, only when sending forms in etc and to ask if medicals had been received, I've got KC and she is really quick to respond when I've emailed her, We are now at the 7month mark as I submitted my application in November with KC allocated a few days later. All I know is my application has been passed to the senior migration officer and that I can travel to OZ but I'd need to leave OZ when my visa comes through to activate it.
  18. Hi PIO, New to this forum been reading as far back as 2011, so much reading and envious of the peeps who have been granted, I submitted my application for 309/100 in November and CO assigned in November, I thought if my application look genuine then I'd be issued with the Temp 309 visa but my CO wrote back stating no need for the temp as I qualify for the 100 straight off and that's what she's considering at the moment. Medicals done April, Now just waiting, and waiting and waiting for approval hopefully??? She did say processing times of 8-9 months and sent me a letter stating no more info required and has been passed to Senior Migration Officer, I can travel to Australia on a different Visa but they are unable to help in which visa i should travel on, although they said I'd need to depart Australia and be off shore and re-enter Australia to activate my Visa when its granted. So we are staying put until that glorious day. Is everyone still getting their visa's around the 8 month mark? Thanks Steven
