  1. Hi, we lodged our 189 visa in Oct. We have just let our house and have moved into my mums in order to save for the big move. The problem is my 13 year old son, who has started saying he doesn't want to go! He says he is settled at school and has great friends and really enjoys his life here! I feel very guilty but at the same time should I change my plans for a child who doesn't know what's best for him? Has anyone else had this problem? I just need some advice on how to deal with it. My other 2 children r younger and not really expressed an opinion (as yet!!!) any advice would b greatly appreciated! I'm really stressing about it. Thanks xxx
  2. We lodged in October, told CO takes 7-8 weeks and then ? Medicals! Agent said she will let us know wen we need to get them done. I assume this is right? Thanks x
  3. That's a long time! I was told 7-8 weeks for a CO?! I hope it doesn't drag on and on. Can't u chase your up? Where in Warrington r u? I'm there too! X
  4. I don't know! My solicitor said she will let me know wen to get them done! But somebody said waiting for them holds up the process?! X
  5. Hi, thanks for the info. We have an agent but she has not told us to go for medicals as yet she just said she will let us know when to have them?! X
  6. Hi, thanks for that! I was told 7-8 weeks but I suppose it does vary. Hiw long after that does it take do u know? From what I can gather it's not that long?? X
  7. Hi visa lodged Monday and told I will wait 7-8 weeks for a case officer. Any one know how much longer after this? Thanks x
  8. Hi, yes u will have to mention your time travelling in OZ. U shouldn't need to supply evidence of work if not relying on points for this. hope this helps!! X
  9. Great thanks! No I've got an agency doing it but they have asked me for P60's and birth certs etc? I will read the info on the link tho, thanks for that x
  10. Hi, does anyone know if the points for this visa have gone back to 60 instead of 65?! I read that they had but not sure if old info?! Also, what different bits of info do I need to send with the main application as I seem to b sending a lot with the EOI. And finally, does anyone know if work experience as a midwife could also incorporate nursing work experience? I am asking as there was a time when I reduced my midwifery hours but did xtra nursing shifts; would this b considered as a closely related profession? thanks in advance for any advice! jill x
  11. Hi, I am a midwife with 18 years experience and just about to send EOI. I am registered in OZ now and just had my skills assessment completed. Are u looking at permanent residency? U really need to speak to a mara registered migration agency to understand the process and how to get started. Re midwifery in OZ I believe it is very different, very behind what we do and I get the impression it is quite medicalised. If u need any other advice just let me know!!! X
  12. Hi not sure if I will get a response from this but was speaking to some people doing the ielts test on this day; wondering how they got on?! Xx
  13. Hi , i completed my application with them last year and officially registered in Maybefore the letterof eligibility ran out! I did not have to provide evidence of case loading, just my transcript and degree stuff. I have been a midwife for 18 years. I'm so glad I registered before these changes came in! Best of luck x
  14. I didn't have to provide case loading evidence but that only applies to community midwives! In the hospital we don't have caseloads?! Sounds strange?! X
  15. What type of skills assessment? If it's ANMAC it's 16 weeks! X
  16. Hi I am a midwife with a degree and got registered this year. I had no problems really, however, I have heard that that r making the assessment process tougher! My migration agent told me that, but I don't know y this would be really?! Y don't u ring them and ask? I have phoned them a few times at midnight and they have always been fine. Or u could send them an email? good luck! X
  17. Permanent residency, 189 same as u! My employer has been the same for last 15 years, it's just I made a mistake with the year I went to 3 days! I thought it was 2009 but it was 2010! I can't c it being a problem as I'm sure loads of people must make errors! I've sent them a HR letter and an apology! Hope that goes down ok thanks for response x
  18. Thanks for that. Do you think they will consider my extra shifts for me to get the full points for experience? I have done the ielts but only get 15 points for age. I have a degree as well so just need the 20 for experience. If they only give me 3 years that's only 1:(. Do u know how many years ANMAC need proof of? I think it's 36 months but not totally sure thanks, jill x
  19. Hi, just wondering if anyone can clear this up for me cos I'm really stressing at the moment:( I am registered with APHRA and my modified assessment is going through; however, I have made an error on the form which I need to tell them about so that is worrying me. Secondly, I have 18 years experience as a midwife but I have worked various hours during this time. Initially I was full time for 5 years, then 22.5 hours for 4 years, then I went to 15 hours for child are reasons; however I did loads of extra shifts as a midwife and a nurse during this time. Then in 2010 I went back up to 22.5 hrs and this year back up to 30 hrs. I have continued to to extra shifts throughout and have done teaching hours at the university as an associate lecturer for the past 18 months. Basically what I want to know is: will the points only consider the last 3 years? Will my 18 years be mostly disregarded? if that is the case, my points will be short! What other options will I then have? also do ANMAC require just 36 months of experience when doing a modified assessment? Phew sorry for the long post but I'm freaking out! thanks to anyone with advice xxx
  20. Yes I have miscalculated work experience it's 15 points not 20! My intention is not to hide anything from ANMAC which would b ridiculous and I am using an immigration expert. I just didn't want my employer to know of my plans! X
  21. Thanks for reply! They already have HR info re my employment over last 10 years that's y I was confused with the further request because my 22.5 hrs that I worked at the time is stated in the HR info that they have?! They want the exact date though. Anyway, the employment history is another worry as I have a letter from my employer saying that I have worked for them for 15 years but I don't have all my p60's only until 2008! I'm worrying about that now as well; but my agent doesn't think it will b a problem. I hope not! Xx
  22. Thanks for response. I still don't know y ANMAC need to know this info if they don't issue points. They have my employment info snd I am alreafy registered in Australia as a midwife. I have calculated my points using an online calculator and obviously my soliciter has done this as well. I can only go by that?!
