I wonder why ANMAC have requested a date then if they don't award skills? My solicitor thought it was odd and didn't see the relevance of their enquiry.

Hi, wondering if anyone can help! My skills assessment has gone in a while ago but now they want the exact date of my reduced hours?! I have worked for 18 years as a midwife. The first 9 years were full time then 22.5 hours for a few years, then 15 hours until 2009/10 whilst kids small, and then 22.5 hrs up until march this year when I went up to 30 hrs a week. Does or will this affect my points?! I assumed I would get 20 points for experience and years in job. I know it does include hours worked but for how many years? I am wondering h they r asking and am getting worried. I get 15 points for age. 15 for degree. 5 points for my husbands job also being on the list and then I thought 20 for experience plus 20 for ielts?! Have I calculated this right? Why do ANMAC want to know when my hours changed? Should I b worried or not? any response/advice would b really appreciated! Thanks xxx

Hi, I applied for my registration last year and got my letter of eligibility in The July. I have just completed my registration in Perth as the letter was due to expire in July and my PR is not complete. I didnt want to re apply as i heard the process was changing. Why dont you just send the transcript of your training to them and see what happens? The worst scenario is that you have to do a back to nursing course when you get there which i know is a pain. I dont understand why your application has moved to the new system? i didnt think it came in until tis year? Sorry cant be any more helpful. Goodluck1

hi yes I did travel to OZ and presented in person. They accepted my tourist visa, passport and hotel address as ID! I am now fully registered and have my certificate! Woohoo xxxx

Hi, it was in writing! I have actually asked for a remark but not living in hope! I am waiting for APHRA to get back to me as part of the ID check asks for your visa and job offer which I obviously don't have yet! I was originally going on a sponsership that's y I applied for registration early! I pulled out of this when I learnt how expensive the school fees were on this type of visa. That's why I am going for PR visa now but have the bloody stress of ielts! It's demoralising especially when I have a degree and a masters and am English born and bred! Just want the skills assessment lodged so I feel like I'm moving forward! X thanks for your response! X

Hi, wondering if anyone can help! Sat ielts recently for first time and got 3 8.5's and 1 6.5! I was a bit gutted with that to say the least! Anyway wondering wot to do now should I resist it or travel to Oz to finish my APHRA registration?! I have a letter of eligibility that expires at the end of July. If I complete my ID checks before then I can get my skills assessment without academic ielts! I will still have to do the general at some point but not for a while. BTW has any one else had to resist ielts for one poor score?! Thanks xxx

Oh really?! They said I have to present in person! If I don't have a response by Monday I will ring them again. The ID paperwork says u need a copy of your visa that's y I was worried. That is what I am waiting for a response on. It would b fab if I didn't need to travel there as I wud literally b going just to complete my registration!!! Thanks for your response x

Hi wondering if anyone knows the answer to my problem! I have a letter of eligibility from APHRA that will expire at the end of July. I was originally going to Oz on a sponsership visa but now going for PR visa. I am happy to travel to Oz before July to complete my registration, but wondering if I will b able to as I won't have visa until end if year. Do you think this matters? Plus I don't have a job yet as it's too early! I have asked them but still waiting on a reply! I don't want to go through the application process again cos it cost me a fortune; plus I've heard they r making it harder to register!!!! Anyone been in my position? Thanks xx

Yes I know I'm just doubting myself at the moment! Worried that I will get a subject matter in the writing that I don't know anything about! And some question types with the reading confuse me a bit but at least I know that so I will b more aware on the day. Most if it I'm fine with just the odd few things that are freaking me out a bit! I just need to chill. From Sunday I'm doing nothing else, I think you can do too much when all as you need is an understanding if the format, like u said! Thanks for the advice x
-
That's fab! U must b a brain box! Hope I do that well x
-
Thanks for support! I think the tricky questions can b in the reading as some of the questions are ambiguous don't u think? Driving me mad! Roll on next week wen it's all over! X
