  1. Sorry, just saw additional pics. I really like the countertop and it looks really warm and welcoming.
  2. Looks very nice. Any pics of the inside?
  3. Is swapping a plug something that can be done yourself?
  4. August. Prime recruiting time there, so this is annoying! Where are you moving? We're heading to Newcastle in the Hunter region.
  5. Hi teacherben, no I hadn't got to part 2 yet but you have to attend an interview in the last stage, so I guess we can't apply for anything from here.
  6. your CO seems really fussy. What a pain for you. What is a subject access?
  7. Yes, that's what I mean. I filled in an online form and now about to send off docs. I've read this page and the rest looks very onerous! http://www.dec.nsw.gov.au/about-us/careers-centre/school-careers/teaching/our-programs-and-initiatives/overseas-trained-teachers/approval-process Am I looking at the right thing?
  8. Is anyone applying to get an accreditation to teach in NSW? It seems quite complicated and I'm unsure I'm doing it right. I have registered online and now think I have to send my qualifications off to be assessed.
  9. Perhaps they need the points? And although unlikely, it is possible to achieve such a jump. My writing was re-marked and went from 7.5 to 9.
  10. Grant today! So relieved it is all finally over and we can plan properly now.
  11. Case officer allocated today. Team adelaide. Has asked for PCCs and my husband's form 80. Further up the thread someone asked about scanned colour copies versus certified copies. My email from the CO specifically states that they accept colour scans.
  12. Wow. We got one of our police checks back today. Hopefully, the other will come tomorrow or Saturday and we can scan them in on Monday. Then everything would be complete.
  13. Congratulations! Come and join us on the Feb 189 thread.
  14. After a day or so, a list of documents appeared for both me and my husband. I believe you can add them before this appears by clicking on 'add documents' or something similar in the top right of the screen but we didn't. You can pay before adding.
  15. Australia's teaching requirements are very exacting so people do need to have the exact information to be able to help. A migration agent would need the same info. Getting impatient with people who are trying to help you is counterproductive. Saying that, I agree with vanduex's idea. Apply under the primary code if you can.
  16. I'm confused too. If you're approved by AITSL, what's the issue?
  17. You have to land within 12 months of your medical or PCC being completed (whichever is earliest). Therefore, people who don't want to go over permanently that early go on holiday to validate their visas. a HAP ID is the reference number on your medical referral form. You only get this when you have lodged your application. i'm not sure about your other questions though.
  18. Yes, lots of people have done it themselves. If you have a straightforward case, it is straightforward. There is just a lot of document collecting. Have you taken a points test to see how many points you have and if you are eligible for the 189 skilled visa? You need 60 points. If you have studied in this country you will not need to take an IELTS test, unless you need to for points. I got 20 points for taking the test and getting above 8.
  19. We had our medicals today. Glad that's out the way but now waiting again.
  20. 43 would still give you 15 points. How many years work experience do you have?
  21. Hi ferdie, if we had certified copies we uploaded them but they were mostly just originals. Form 80 is the character assessment form. I have read that most COs are asking for it now so got it done. If you google form 80, it will come up. It's very long! what subject are you and where are you heading?
  22. What sort of unexpected costs would there be? I've heard that sometimes the containers are sprayed and then the contents' owner has to pay. What else is there?
  23. I love nearly all our furniture so we're taking most of it. I also think that having familiar stuff round us (eventually) will help in settling.
