  1. Sorry, just saw additional pics. I really like the countertop and it looks really warm and welcoming.
  2. Looks very nice. Any pics of the inside?
  3. Is swapping a plug something that can be done yourself?
  4. August. Prime recruiting time there, so this is annoying! Where are you moving? We're heading to Newcastle in the Hunter region.
  5. Hi teacherben, no I hadn't got to part 2 yet but you have to attend an interview in the last stage, so I guess we can't apply for anything from here.
  6. Yes, that's what I mean. I filled in an online form and now about to send off docs. I've read this page and the rest looks very onerous! http://www.dec.nsw.gov.au/about-us/careers-centre/school-careers/teaching/our-programs-and-initiatives/overseas-trained-teachers/approval-process Am I looking at the right thing?
  7. Is anyone applying to get an accreditation to teach in NSW? It seems quite complicated and I'm unsure I'm doing it right. I have registered online and now think I have to send my qualifications off to be assessed.
  8. Perhaps they need the points? And although unlikely, it is possible to achieve such a jump. My writing was re-marked and went from 7.5 to 9.
  9. Congratulations! Come and join us on the Feb 189 thread.
  10. After a day or so, a list of documents appeared for both me and my husband. I believe you can add them before this appears by clicking on 'add documents' or something similar in the top right of the screen but we didn't. You can pay before adding.
  11. Australia's teaching requirements are very exacting so people do need to have the exact information to be able to help. A migration agent would need the same info. Getting impatient with people who are trying to help you is counterproductive. Saying that, I agree with vanduex's idea. Apply under the primary code if you can.
  12. I'm confused too. If you're approved by AITSL, what's the issue?
  13. Yes, lots of people have done it themselves. If you have a straightforward case, it is straightforward. There is just a lot of document collecting. Have you taken a points test to see how many points you have and if you are eligible for the 189 skilled visa? You need 60 points. If you have studied in this country you will not need to take an IELTS test, unless you need to for points. I got 20 points for taking the test and getting above 8.
  14. Hi, I'm uploading my documents to my application but unsure about this: Did everyone upload both degree and PGCE certificates for proof of education? Did you also upload transcripts for one/both or just the certificate?
  15. I got approved by AITSL today! And lodged my EOI. Excited for Sunday to see if we get invited.
  16. You don't need to submit IELTS to AITSL at all if your degree was completed in an a English speaking country, e.g UK, USA etc. was it?
  17. Lots of great info on this thread already. I wonder if anyone can put my mind at rest about something: my degree is in a different subject to my PGCE (journalism and then English and drama). Has anyone else who has been accepted by AITSL got different subjects like this?
