    I agree exactly. Just tell us what the score is and how you’re prioritising applications cos there’s clearly something sneaky going on. Eg “These jobs aren’t a priority at the moment so your wait is likely 18 months.” Just tell us how long we are likely to wait and that’s fine by me, at least we know. Realistic timelines please!

    Not looking good for us sales and marketing managers either. So far been waiting 6 months TRT. Haven’t heard of any approvals in a while

    Hey guys, with all these crazy stressful cases I’m reading on here, insane wait times, affecting lives, etc, has anyone given their story to the media? Some of these extreme cases some media may pick up on it which could put immi under pressure to sort it out if it got coverage. Or they may just take the stance that we’re foreign so it’s tough we just have to deal with it...and we’re lucky to even have the chance to live here.... just a thought tho....

    Hi, did they ask for just the AU police check or in addition a new police check from the country you’re from? Even though you clearly haven’t lived there since the original check? Ive lived in 3 countries the past 10 years and hope they don’t ask me to get them all again as it took me two months! I understand them asking for AU one again as that’s where I’ve been living but unnecessary to ask again for other countries you haven’t lived in for years surely?

    I’m in same boat as you, work for big company and senior position. Been here 6yrs and worked every day I’ve been here. It’s annoying because all my mates who got their PR pre-April 2017 announcement all got theirs in around 4 months regardless of occupation, etc, seemed to be pretty standard timeframes back then. Now, no one has a clue how long it’s going to be. My MA told me last week I’m looking at anywhere from 6 to 16 months...at the moment. Bit of a wide timeframe that!!

    Thanks for the info! So your job dictates your skill level? You don’t have multiple skill levels per job depending on your own individual experience? Not true I will get it soon, I applied 01SEP17 but other people with same job TRT on list been waiting since Feb/March. Who knows....

    It’s so obvious from the spreadsheet, and all the people announcing their grants recently on here. Someone on spreadsheet got approved for TRT and they applied in Sep 2017! MLTSSL of course Someone on here said a few months back that immi has two teams: one team manages MLTSSL so the high priority jobs, and another team the SOTSL. It’s set up and resourced so MLTSSL are done faster

    Wow it seems if your job is on the MLTSSL your wait is 4-6 months, if on SOTSOL at least 12months. Regardless of whether DE or TRT as well I reckon

    Because I guess I was a bit naive to the visa system and didn't realise PR was possible straight away in my occupation. At the time I was just happy to be offered sponsorship on a 457 and two year wait seemed fine. Then I ended up changing jobs...

    I agree that the whole 4 yr PR rule is harsh. I've been here 5 years on a 457, I should have PR by next year which will mean 10yrs before citizenship. Now someone who arrives today straight on a PR visa will end up getting their citizenship before me! Despite me living and working here for 5 more years! What is the difference between how I have lived my life during the last 5 yrs vs how I would have lived had I been on a PR visa? None! I would still have done the same job, paid the same taxes, joined the same clubs, lived the same Australian values, etc etc That is why that rule is unfair in my opinion.     What if you're now on the STSOL and apply under TRT stream pre-march 2018, but it is not approved by then? Anyone know if your application will be treated with current or new rules in that case? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    I got all mine done shortly before I applied and submitted with application. That way when they look at your application everything is there ready to go, rather than then asking for it, once you've done then waiting for them to look your case again.     Hey guys looking at June 2017 tab in the spreadsheet only 2 visa applicants on there, yet when you look at June 2016 there was nearly 60! And it's a similar theme in May and April. Do you think this is indicative to the common trend, that PR apps have gone down? Maybe because applicants/companies can't or arent willing to comply with new rules? Or simply not as many people following this thread? I thought it would have been the opposite and applications would have increased.     I'm in the same boat. Haven't applied yet but hit my 2 year mark in a few weeks so will apply then and hope for the best. TRT has not really been mentioned in recent changes, except the 2yr to 3yr requirement, as skills assessment is not required so I'm hopeful! As I've been on a 457 for 6 years now I just hope there's a little common sense and the 3 yr requirement can be spread across multiple roles/employers as who stays in the same role 3 years these days?! No one in my industry!

    Spare a thought for those of us who don't even have PR yet... I've been in the country working on a 457 for 6 years. I'll have my PR next year which means I would have been living and working in the country for 11 years by the time I can apply for citizenship. Which means it'll be 12 years before I will finally have it. Yet I have friends who have been here less than me who have citizenship already, and there will be people arriving in the country today on PR visas who will get it before I do. Tell me what's the difference between the way I've been living in the country this past 6 years on a temporary resident visa than those on a permanent visa? I am still working full time, paying taxes and living the Australian way. How different would I have lived here and integrated into Australia had I arrived here on a permanent visa? None! And all because I changed jobs a few years into my 457 for a better opportunity. I really hope they see some sense /logic to all this. Any idea how I can raise this point to anyone of importance who'd listen? Although hopefully someone in a similar position already has. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Thanks for sharing Praveen, where did you see that? Does this apply to 186 TRT? I'm sales and marketing manager eligible to apply for TRT in a few weeks. I'm close to earning AUD136700, does that mean that if I get pay rise to 136700 by time I apply that mine will be processed faster? Does base salary for immi count in superannuation or not?

    Totally agree Raul. They targeted the wrong visa, they targeted 457s because it's more widely known so will get more votes because of it. Most abused visas and where majority of immigrants get PR are from are Student visas and defacto visas. They're the ones that need tightening up, not 457s. Student visas they won't because they bring in great revenue for the unis. Hope they do something about defactos because they are easy to get around and I know two people who got this visa without being in a genuine relationship. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hi all this link I found on another thread seems promising for those currently on a 457 and looking to apply for 186 PR after March 2018 https://www.border.gov.au/ReportsandPublications/Documents/budget/visa-price-increase-fact-sheet-2017-18.pdf It states 457 closes March 2018. It does not state the 186 will close, which says to me it will still be open to 457 holders after then.     Not only that, think of all the super 457 holders have saved which would be withdrawn if we left, so yeah times that by all 457 visa holders and it's fairly significant.... And it's only 95,000 issued in last 12 months, plus partners/spouses that are working. Not sure if they would consider this though to be honest Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
